Description

Job Summary: The Diesel Mechanic will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing diesel-powered equipment to ensure smooth operations in the manufacturing and transportation processes. This includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel engines, heavy machinery, and related systems. Work Schedule: Full-time position, Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 5 PM, timing could change depending on production. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines and equipment, including inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, such as forklifts, loaders, and trucks. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve engine performance issues. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, fuel, and exhaust systems. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance are conducted in compliance with safety standards and regulations. Perform safety checks on equipment to prevent operational hazards. Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory. Provide detailed reports on diagnostics, repairs performed, and equipment conditions. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure equipment is operational and downtime is minimized. Assist in training equipment operators on proper care and maintenance procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Diesel Technology or a related field preferred. Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools. Familiarity with OSHA and environmental safety regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions. Must be able to pass all required safety training and certifications. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Skills and Attributes: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and vendors. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work Environment: This position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move around for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in high-temperature environments. Dexterity to handle tools and equipment adjustments. Must be able to work in an industrial setting with exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
