    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Title:  </strong>Patient Care Technician                                            <strong>Position Code:  </strong>PCT-XXXX</p><p><strong>Department:</strong>  Nursing           <strong>                                                            Oracle Title:  </strong>Patient Care Technician-6032</p><p><strong>Reports to:</strong>  Department Director/Manager                                       <strong>Safety Sensitive:  </strong><span style=\"font-family:'ms gothic'\">☒</span>  Yes      <span style=\"font-family:'segoe ui symbol' , sans-serif\">☐</span>  No</p><p>                                                <strong>Exempt Status:</strong>    <span style=\"font-family:'ms gothic'\">☐</span>  Yes      <span style=\"font-family:'ms gothic'\">☒</span>  No<strong> </strong></p><p><strong>                                                                        </strong></p><p><strong>Position Purpose:</strong></p><p>All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision to be among the kindest, highest quality health systems in the country.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><table style=\"border-collapse:collapse\" border=\"1\" cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\"><tbody><tr><td style=\"border-style:solid;border-width:1pt;padding:0in 5.4pt;vertical-align:top;width:539.5pt\" width=\"719\"><ul><li>Performs a rapid appraisal of a patient's immediate stability and respond as necessary to insure the well-being of the patient as necessary.</li><li>Transport patients to other departments on monitors, as appropriate and requested.</li><li>Assists RN's and Physicians with physical exams, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures including but not limited to: electrocardiogram testing (EKG); wound cleansing and irrigation; initial, repeat and orthostatic vital sign measurements; application of monitor leads, specimen collection, and transports stable telemetry or non-monitored patients to nursing units.</li><li>Document all care/procedures provided.</li><li>Recognizes work priorities and responds; accordingly, anticipating the needs of the department.</li><li>After training and where state statue permits, performs blood glucose testing; phlebotomy; saline lock insertion; IV discontinuation; bladder catheterization and removal.</li><li><span style=\"color:black\">Monitors supply stock levels and reports needs. Notifies environmental services (EVS), maintenance, biomedical engineering, and others to ensure proper equipment and a safe environment is maintained.</span></li><li><span style=\"color:#202124\">Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization.</span></li></ul></td></tr></tbody></table><p> </p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><table style=\"border-collapse:collapse\" border=\"1\" cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\"><tbody><tr><td style=\"border-style:solid;border-width:1pt;padding:0in 5.4pt;vertical-align:top;width:539.5pt\" width=\"719\"><p><strong>Education:  </strong>High School diploma or equivalent.</p><p><strong>Experience:  </strong>N/A</p><p><strong>Certification:  </strong>BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross</p><p><strong>License: Must meet one of the following;</strong></p><ul><li>Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (If CNA must apply for LNA within 7 days and obtain LNA within 30 days of hire.
