    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Summary:</strong></p><p>The Safety and Health Specialist is responsible for ensuring regulatory adherence, supporting school-based staff, and leading initiatives that promote student health and safety. This role serves as a resource for safety compliance and health-related initiatives across our schools and requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent communication to ensure compliance and program success.</p><p><br><strong>Company Information:</strong></p><p>National Heritage Academies (NHA) partners with communities to build and operate public charter schools. Join our team.</p><p><br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><u>Health Compliance &amp; Support</u><br>• Serve as the primary health compliance lead for all NHA schools, leveraging health professional relationships for support and providing guidance on student health and medical matters.<br>• Ensure compliance with state nursing regulations and student health laws; serve as a liaison to state nursing agencies and local health departments.<br>• Act as the central point of contact for school leaders and service center teams (SPED, DSQs, Legal/Compliance, Enrollment, Purchasing, Board Relations, Charter Renewal, and Safety).<br>• Collaborating with health professionals, arrange training for student medical needs based on their medical action plans.<br>• Manage annual nurse and health training requests, including vendor coordination, contract development, amendments, renewals, and ongoing vendor relationship management.<br>• Update and maintain health policies and medical handbook language to ensure regulatory alignment and operational efficiency.<br>• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and cost-effectiveness across safety and health operations.</p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><br><u>Safety Compliance &amp; Programs</u><br>• Support the annual completion and compliance reporting of over 1,400 emergency drills, including collection of logs, inspection reports, and submission to authorizers and state entities.<br>• Develop and support safety and regulatory compliance training materials for school-based staff.<br>• Collect, maintain, and monitor required safety compliance documentation and reporting.<br>• Oversee ordering and tracking of required safety and health equipment (e.g., EpiPens, Stop the Bleed kits, etc.).&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"padding-left: 24px;\"><li><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in;\">Additional duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p><br><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 24px;\"><li>Bachelors preferred, but not required</li><li>2-4 years of experience in compliance, health, or safety roles, or equivalent experience comparable to other specialist positions at NHA.</li><li>Experience in compliance monitoring, training, or program management preferred.</li><li>Independent problem-solving skills and strong ability to manage multiple tasks.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and departments.</li><li>Strong networking and interpersonal skills.</li></ul><p><br>This is an in-person position at our NHA Service Center located at 3850 Broadmoor Ave., Grand Rapids, MI.<br><br>Please&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.nhaschools.com/en/who-we-are\">click here</a>&nbsp;to find out more about our core values.<br><br><i>National Heritage Academies is an equal-opportunity employer.</i></p>",
