Description

The Division of Humanities and Fine Arts at Keuka College seeks an adjunct instructor to teach in-person THR-101 Introduction to Theatre and Drama , a course within the General Education program, at its lakeside campus in Keuka Park, New York, beginning Fall 2026. This is an on-campus position ; remote or hybrid instruction is not available . Keuka College welcomes faculty applicants who have a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to utilize a variety of instructional methods and modes to ensure student success. We strongly encourage applicants who can adapt teaching methods to a wide range of student backgrounds and interests. Keuka College has a strong commitment to the principles of diversity and encourages applications from groups underrepresented in higher education. Summary: The Adjunct Instructor of Theatre at Keuka College reports to the Chair of the Humanities and Fine Arts Division. This role is centered around developing and implementing in-person course instruction , including the creation and grading of assessments. The instructor is tasked with providing students with regular feedback, fostering a conducive learning environment, and actively engaging students in the classroom. Additionally, the instructor contributes to the assessment of student learning outcomes and maintains a commitment to professional integrity, college policies, and student privacy in accordance with FERPA regulations. Regular on-campus attendance availability for student consultations during office hours are also integral to the position. Essential Responsibilities: Teach THR 101 Intro to Theatre/Drama, which consists of three on-campus contact hours per week per section, plus office hours, course preparation, and student assessment. Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus, goals, and objectives. Design, administer, and grade essays, examinations, speeches, and applicable projects to accurately assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus. Provide clear documentation of student progress through regular, frequent, and timely feedback. Complete academic warnings and midterm progress reports as necessary. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and actively engage students. Contribute to general education program assessment of student learning outcomes based on signature assignments in course. Maintain regular on-campus office hours to meet one-on-one with students. Work with the Chair and other faculty in the Division of Humanities & Fine Arts to ensure instructional quality and program quality. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
