    "description": "<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>PURPOSE: Provides clarity to role responsibilities and requirements</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides direct medical services to patients of the clinic including examination, diagnosis, planning, treatment and evaluation of progress with an emphasis on prevention.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides extended care services to patients.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Accurately and systematically documents patient health information in the BSHC Electronic Medical Record System.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Returns patient and other provider phone calls as necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicates appropriately with patients and patient families regarding patient’s condition and treatment.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Keeps regularly scheduled clinic hours and is available to provide patient care at all times during these hours.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Cooperates in promoting the team concept of health care delivery.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides clinical supervision to medical support staff.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>When requested, advises Clinic Director, Medical Director, Chief Executive Officer, and/or Board of Directors on questions involving medical matters.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In collaboration with Clinic Director, Medical Director, Chief Executive Officer and other professional staff members, assists in development and periodic updating of any standards of care, principles of practice, standing orders, clinical protocols (including those governing mid-level providers), support staff job descriptions (to delineate responsibilities of each team member), and other medical policies that may be promulgated by BSHC.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Advise Clinic Director, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Executive Officer in matters concerning staff professionalism and conduct of professional and support staff.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assists in the recruitment and orientation of new medical support staff.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assists in the development of training and continuing education opportunities for medical support staff.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Actively participates in assuring continuing quality control in the delivery of health services to BSHC patients.  May participate in audit procedures for quality assurance.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assists in health care planning for BSHC.  Maintains familiarity with Corporation’s mission, goals, objectives, polices and protocols or procedures that are relevant to health care and works with Chief Medical Officer, Chief Executive Officer and professional staff to assure health care objectives are met.</li>\n<li>Assures the confidentiality of patients’ Electronic Protected Health Information.</li>\n<li>Adheres to the terms and conditions set forth in the BSHC Corporate Compliance Plan.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Licensure to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky.</li>\n<li>Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. </li>\n<li>Commitment to providing consistent, nonjudgmental, quality health care to underserved communities</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/COMMUNICATION:</p>\n<p>Direct clinical supervision received from Chief Medical Officer. Administrative supervision from Chief Executive Officer.</p>",
