As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Right now we are looking for a<strong> Unit Aide </strong>to work with our <strong>Operating Room </strong>Team<strong>.</strong> </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status: </strong>Temporary Part Time<strong>Duration: </strong>September 2026 - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.<strong>Hours of Work: </strong>8 hour rotating shifts, including days, evenings and weekends - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.<strong>Location: </strong>Humber River Health – Wilson Site<strong>Labour Group: </strong>NOWU Service <strong>Reporting Relationship: </strong>Manager, Operating Room<strong>Hourly Rate: </strong>$27.758 - $28.306</p>\n<p><strong>Position Responsibilities: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensuring that the areas and Supply carts are stocked, replacing linen, isolation supplies, etc.</li>\n <li>Maintaining an established inventory of sterile and unsterile supplies for the units.</li>\n <li>Assiting with collection of urgent supplies and medications from pharmacy or equipment as needed.</li>\n <li>Other stocking duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Contacting SPD, EVS and or Stores for additional supplies if necessary</li>\n <li>Transporting clean/soiled linen, medical surgical /supplies, specimens etc.</li>\n <li>Ensuring that all empty Bays are equipped with a clean stretcher</li>\n <li>Assisting surgical and plastic clinic patients with way finding to pre-operative change rooms</li>\n <li>Notifying manager/designate about broken equipment repairs or replacement and initiating the reporting and transportation of broken equipment to Biomedical Engineering or Maintenance as required</li>\n <li>Working with the volunteers in navigating patients in the Operating Room department </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Grade 12 education or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Two years of recent related hospital medical/surgical supply experience required. </li>\n <li>Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) or Sterile Supply Processing certificate is required</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of medical supplies required.</li>\n <li>Surgical experience is a strong asset.</li>\n <li>Able to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift 25-30 pounds repeatedly).</li>\n <li>Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.</li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
