Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice</em></strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>General Position Summary:</strong></p><p>Organizes and leads the activities of pre-kindergarten children and provides other assistance in the implementation of a pre-school program. Provide a warm, accepting learning environment for children.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Principal Accountabilities:</strong></p><p><u>General Administration</u></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Prepares daily and weekly lesson plans in accordance with the needs of the children and the philosophy of the preschool program.&nbsp;</li><li>Uses positive reinforcement or redirection to maintain discipline and manage behavior. Informs the Director of unreasonable behavior, parent complaints, or other problems.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Organizes and participates in games, reads to children, sing songs, and teaches simple painting, drawing, and handwork.</li><li>Directs children in eating, resting and toileting.</li><li>Supervises children in clean-up.</li><li>Serves snacks, drinks, and/or meals.</li><li>Supervises children in hygiene.</li><li>Clean-up the room: clean tables, sweep and vacuum floors, remove trash, and return equipment to storage areas.</li><li>Plan and clarify expectations for any assistant who may be assigned to the class.</li><li>Keeps attendance records of children in the classroom.</li><li>Communicates with parents as needed or requested, including but not limited to parent conferences.</li><li>Ensures equipment is maintained and requests repairs or new equipment as needed.</li><li>Manages the proper storage and disposal of confidential information and personally identifiable information (PII) in accordance with policy and law.</li><li>Performs all other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Typical Decisions and/or Recommendations Made in This Position:</strong></p><p>Minimal Decisions and/or Recommendations Made in This Position</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Supervision Given and/or Received</strong><strong>:</strong></p><p>Moderate supervision given and/or received</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Internal Contacts:</strong></p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Priests, Director, Business Manager, and employees.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><br></p><p><strong>External Contacts:</strong></p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Parents, guardians, parishioners and visitors</li><li><br></li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:</strong></p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>This position works in a typical preschool classroom environment and requires the ability to lift young children and change diapers and/or clothing, if necessary.</li><li>Ability to accept work interruptions while remaining focused on duties.</li><li>Required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of emotion.</li><li>Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Travel Requirements:</strong></p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>None.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Education and Experience Preferred:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>A practicing member of the Roman Catholic Church (preferred), in good standing.</li><li>High School diploma or GED.</li></ul><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Two years&rsquo; experience working with young children.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>CPR Certified: Obtainable after hire.</li><li>Successful completion of the Diocesan Safe Environment process.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Knowledge and Skills Preferred:</strong></p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Must love children.</li><li>Demonstrated history of good judgement.</li><li>Demonstrated aptitude for adaptability and flexibility.</li><li>Works well in a team setting.</li><li>Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.</li><li>Ability to receive, understand, retain, and complete verbal and written tasks.</li><li>Ability to work well with people from a diverse variety of audiences.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to skillset to listen empathetically, make peace, and de-escalate.</li><li>Bilingual (Spanish/ English) is desirable, but not required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>FLSA Designation:</strong> Non-Exempt, Part-time 20-29 hours/week, Onsite</p><p><br></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
