    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>2026 Job Description for Workshop Facilitator<br>Continuing Professional Studies, Bank Street College of Education<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Job Description:<br>Seeking an experienced educator to design and facilitate a workshop for 10-25 educators.<br>Workshop description below.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>TEWS898N Storytelling in the Writing Workshop: Loose Parts &amp;amp; Creative Sparks<br>(PreK-Grade 2)<br>This class explores how open-ended materials can support and deepen young children’s<br>storytelling and writing development in classrooms. We will examine how design thinking<br>and loose parts can elevate the writing workshop, particularly for students who struggle to<br>generate ideas or sustain engagement. Each session begins with a thoughtfully designed<br>Firestarter—a short creative provocation using intentional constraints to spark imagination,<br>problem-solving, and narrative thinking. Through hands-on exploration, educators will<br>learn how materials such as wire, clay or play-dough, paper, LEGO®, and fabric can serve<br>as thinking tools to support the development of narrative, opinion/persuasive, and<br>informational writing.
