We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. Our rich history and strong community support pave the way for the future of healthcare as we serve you&mdash;our family, friends, and neighbors.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The Medical Assistant assists the staff and providers in patient care and workflow. The medical assistant has administrative and clinical skills. Communicates with and assists in direct care of patients and families. Ensures timely flow of patients and assists the healthcare provider to provide optimal care to patients of all age groups. Possesses the knowledge and skills required to complete assignments at a proficient level.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Understands role as part of the healthcare team and demonstrates technical skills related to the job.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Applies computer concepts for office procedures. Updates computer skills to meet job requirements.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs intake of patient office visits capturing historical and current wellness information including screenings.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Can queue up orders and testing for authorized sign off.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prioritizes incoming communications and results to manage the clinical workflows.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assists with obtaining prior authorizations with insurance companies.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Accurately and completely documents onto the electronic health record and completes forms and requisitions as indicated.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Obtain specimens and comply with appropriate handling guidelines.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Follows all appropriate infection control procedures.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knows and practices good customer service; demonstrates friendly and caring attitude toward patients and families.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Good rapport with co-workers and medical providers.
