Northwest AEA provides special education and school improvement services to 34 public school districts and 32 accredited, non-public schools. The agency serves 45,000 students and more than 5000 educators in a 10-county area of Northwest Iowa (Lyon, Osceola, Sioux, O'Brien, Plymouth, Cherokee, Woodbury, Ida, Monona, and Crawford).
Our headquarters is located at 5800 Discovery Blvd., Sioux City, with regional offices in Cherokee, Denison, Le Mars, Onawa, and Sioux Center.

Job Summary
Provide family and caregiver support to help children (birth to age 5) learn and grow through everyday activities and routines, and work closely with other providers to help children grow to their fullest potential. Support can include the development and implementation of Individualized Family Services Plans (IFSPs) and transition support prior to children turning three.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in early childhood preferred, but not required
Essential Functions
Service Coordination
Explain Early ACCESS services and resources to families and caregivers.
Assist parents of infants and toddlers with disabilities in obtaining access to needed early intervention services and other services identified in the IFSP, including making referrals to providers outside the Early ACCESS system for needed services.
Facilitate communication among early intervention service providers across agencies, resulting in a more coordinated and responsive delivery system.
Use family-centered practices in all contacts with families.
Assure the development and implementation of the IFSP within the required timelines.
Coordinate, facilitate and participate in the development, review, evaluation, and implementation of IFSP services in a timely manner.
Facilitate the development of a transition plan to preschool, school, or, if appropriate, to other services.
Early Intervention
Share information regarding the child’s present levels of development and functional performance and serve as a resource to parents as a transition linkage to outside referral agencies.
Assist in the development of IFSP outcomes and strategies to meet the outcomes, using a variety of methods to monitor learning.
Assist in identifying the full range of strategies and services the child may need to be successful in the natural environments and family identified routines for infants and toddlers.
Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary IFSP team, and as a Primary Service Provider.
Plan for and model interventions that can be used by the parent or caregiver throughout the day in existing routines and activities of the child and family.
Completion of Family Guided Routines Based Interventions (FGRBI) modules and participation in the coaching cycle with a trained internal coach.
Adhere to the Iowa Department of Education rules, Northwest AEA policies and procedures, and IDEA Part B and C federal statute and regulations.
Use available technology to complete and disseminate appropriate documentation of activities and results.
Apply knowledge of cultural and linguistic diversity and social context or the development of and learning in young children in the design of appropriate intervention strategies.
