    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"line-height: 120%;\"><strong>Summary:</strong></p><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">The Assessment Specialist reports directly to the Academic Operations Team Lead and works closely with the Curriculum &amp; Instruction (C&amp;I) team in support of our common assessment model along with a variety of departmental projects and initiatives.</p><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\"><br><strong>Company Information:</strong></p><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">National Heritage Academies (NHA) partners with communities to build and operate public charter schools. Founded in 1995, today NHA serves over 100 schools in nine states, with more than 65,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Our schools are designed to eliminate the achievement gap and provide school choice to families so their children are prepared for success in college, career, and life. A majority of our schools consistently outperform their local district on the state test. According to the Center for Research on Education Outcomes at Stanford University, NHA is a leading performer among charter schools and management organizations, outperforming both conventional district schools and other charter school operators. Join our team.</p><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\"><br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 24px;\"><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Provide support for key Curriculum &amp; Instruction initiatives, primarily our internally-developed interim common assessments. Areas of support will include but not be limited to the following: Formatting student- and teacher-ready assessment materials, editing &amp; proofreading, entering assessment content into both the NHA’s proprietary, custom-built assessment system, and a third-party online assessment platform. &nbsp;This will also include supporting item and assessment development.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Provide support for all schools with NWEA/MAP and state testing administration. &nbsp;Also, execute state reporting compliance tasks for these assessments.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Collaborate with Curriculum &amp; Instruction team members and school leaders to obtain information, coordinate logistics, and ensure timely completion of tasks and deliverables.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Support other projects and initiatives, as needed (e.g., myNHA development and enhancements for applications including gradebook, assessment, and curriculum).</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Additional duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\"><br><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 24px;\"><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Bachelor’s degree in education is preferred.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">3-5 years of professional work experience, teaching experience is preferred.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Self-motivated.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Able to work independently or as part of a team.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Ability to use technology fluently.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and verbal.</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\">Ability to travel occasionally.</p></li></ul><p style=\"line-height: 120%;\"><br>This is an in-person position at our NHA Service Center located at 3850 Broadmoor Ave., Grand Rapids, MI.<br><br>Please&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.nhaschools.com/en/who-we-are\">click here</a>&nbsp;to find out more about our core values.<br><br><i>National Heritage Academies is an equal-opportunity employer.</i></p>",
