    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Speech Therapist - PRN (As Needed) - Florence County</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.&nbsp;Responsible for providing speech therapy services in accordance with the physician's written orders. Interacts daily with patients, family members and agency personnel and on a regular basis with physicians.</li>\n <li>&nbsp;Directly accountable to the Team Clinical Manager and the Director of Clinical Services, McLeod Home Health. Functions within agency and unit policies and procedures. Manges own time productively and independently and complies with attendance and reporting requirements.&nbsp;Must be knowledgeable of state therapy laws, the Conditions of Participation of the Federal Health Insurance Program for the Aged and Disabled (Title XVIII, Social Security Act, Section 1861), and the regulations relating to Conditions of Participation for Home Health Agencies (Part 405, Section 1201-1243), JCAHO, and all other pertinent regulatory issues. Must be knowledgeable about conflict resolution techniques and customer relations.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Must have understanding of all agency services and referral systems. Must possess knowledge of community resources available to client base.&nbsp;Demonstrate expertise in communication and interpersonal relationships. Must possess excellent writing skills. Must be able to use computer. Must have excellent organizational skills.&nbsp;Must be highly adaptable and have the ability to exercise high degree of initiative and judgement in carrying out work assignments.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Must have excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.&nbsp;Must be able to function in an office setting which includes standing, walking, sitting, etc. must be able to use office equipment such as copier, calculators, etc. must have a very good manual dexterity in carrying out technical and physical aspects of clinical care and operating clinical equipment. Must have good hearing and eyesight.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Must have at least six months experience in a home health setting or other health care setting or have successfully completed an accredited Master level Speech/Language Pathology program and in the process of completing the Clinical Fellowship Year as a McLeod employee.&nbsp;Graduate of an accredited program in Speech-Language Pathology with a Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree acceptable and has successfully completed a clinical fellowship year earning a Certificate of Clinical Competency or is in the process of completing their CFY via the assistance and supervision of a McLeod's level CCC-SLP and according to the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association )ASHA) regulations.&nbsp;Moderate physical activity involved, with daily and frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to fifty pounds, sitting, and driving.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Full range of motion and strenuous movements necessary when performing patient care.&nbsp;Working conditions is in an office which is well ventilated, lighted and temperature regulated. In the home setting and related travel, conditions may be in climate, cramped, or require special accommodations for patient care. In such conditions, safety must be responsibility of worker.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Must use own car when company transportation is not available for travel to remote sites, often in rural, isolated areas. Must be able to handle potential problems related to safety issues for staff and patients in all settings.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Must be familiar with principles of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpretation of information needed for each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs to provide the care needed. Must have high degree of maturity, self-motivation, creativity, initiative and independent judgement required. Must have responsible, ethical, self-initiating professional behavior. Effective interpersonal skills, empathy and ability to listen and plan with staff, patients/customers/physicians are essential characteristics.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Must be able to efficiently communicate with a diverse population. Self-awareness and self-evaluation are important characteristics as are accuracy in collecting data, completion of records and follow-up. Works closely with other staff, students, and other external agencies and groups.&nbsp; Adheres to department dress code.
