We are</span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\"> always seeking outstanding applications for future Bus Monitors. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">The following mission outlines the expectations of all employees at the school level as well as employees of The Roger Bacon Academy in providing support to the schools. </span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">Our understandings of humankind and our universe are expressed and communicated through all of our arts and sciences.  Each method of expression – language, painting, music, mathematics, and science – has its <em>rules and techniques for effectively communicating</em> these ideas and understandings. </span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">These <em>rules and techniques</em> are the bridges over which ideas must be communicated from one generation to the next.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">Thus, our Mission is:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\"> <em>To teach the rules and techniques</em> for effective expression and communication in the arts and sciences.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\"> To communicate, by these arts and sciences, our understandings of the universe and our role in it.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\"> To instill a love of learning and discovery justifying a lifelong dedication to health, truth, and virtue.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 14px\">Paramount for <em>every</em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> job at </span><em>every</em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> level on </span><em>every</em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> campus is the fulfillment of this Mission.</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt\">School Bus Monitor – Job Responsibilities </span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Purpose:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The School Bus Monitor is responsible for monitoring the conduct of students on a school bus to maintain discipline and safety, following basic principles of early childhood development and establishing good relationships with the children, the bus driver, the parents and other staff.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p> Duties and Responsibilities:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Directs loading of students to prevent congestion and unsafe conditions; assists children as needed with getting on and off the bus safely.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Ensure children are in assigned seats, if applicable.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Ensure children get off the bus at the correct stop and that they are released to the proper guardians.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Rides the school bus to ensure students follow all bus rules, including prevention of altercations between students and damage to the bus.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Maintains order on the bus.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Pick up any trash left behind on the bus after each use; ensure bus is clean on the inside.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Report any bus malfunctions or repairs needed.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Participates in school bus safety drills.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>May disembark from school bus at railroad crossings and clear bus across tracks.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Ensure that there are not any children left behind after the bus route is completed.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Teach children how to maintain safety, such as putting their seat belts on or sit back and follow procedures. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Other: </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>School Bus Monitor is a non-exempt hourly paid position and is required to clock in and out to ensure accurate record keeping to comply with Department of Labor standards.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Must have a reliable means of communication for quick response to the Office Manager and Headmaster to support effective school operations.  </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt\">Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black\">The Bus Monitor will have the following experience and attributes:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black\"> </span>Prior experience working in early childhood educational settings a plus.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with children, bus driver, parents or other staff.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Excellent communication skills: active listening, instruction, speaking.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Excellent problem-solving and reasoning skills</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Ability to follow oral and written instructions.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>",
