The <strong>General Superintendent</strong> is responsible for the overall field on a large project, leading a team of superintendents to ensure that company policies and procedures are met in regard to safety, scheduling, budget, quality and customer satisfaction. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Field Operations & Execution</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Directs and coordinates field activities across multiple projects or large-scale programs</li>\n <li>Leads and mentors’ teams of Superintendents, Foremen, and field staff to deliver high-performing results</li>\n <li>Oversees planning and execution of self-perform scopes including Concrete, Drywall, General Carpentry, Hoisting, Site Logistics, Safety Carpentry, etc.</li>\n <li>Maintains full knowledge of contract documents and proactively identifies coordination or constructability issues</li>\n <li>Develops and implements detailed work plans, schedules, and daily coordination efforts with trade partners</li>\n <li>Coordinates project sequencing, shutdowns, tie-ins, and milestone handoffs with stakeholders </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Safety, Quality & Sustainability</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Acts as the lead safety authority in the field, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA, Gilbane, and Next 150 policies</li>\n <li>Establishes a safety-first culture through example, training, and regular field engagement</li>\n <li>Enforces and audits quality assurance and control procedures</li>\n <li>Drives sustainable practices on-site; materials management, energy-efficient methods, and jobsite organization </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Workforce Development & Training</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Recruits, develops, and retains top field talent across all self-perform and logistics functions</li>\n <li>Supports the design and implementation of training programs and career development paths for Superintendents, Foremen, and craftworkers</li>\n <li>Leads onboarding and performance management efforts with junior and mid-level field leaders</li>\n <li>Promotes a culture of learning, ownership, and accountability </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Schedule & Cost Management</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proactively reviews project schedules; creates lookaheads and contingency plans</li>\n <li>Manages General Conditions and Site Services budgets in alignment with project expectations</li>\n <li>Forecasts labor and equipment needs, tracks production, and supports cost-of-work projections</li>\n <li>Collaborates with Project Management, Estimating, and Procurement for alignment on labor and material resources </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Strategic Execution & Innovation</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Leads the development and standardization of existing and new self-perform scopes and best practices</li>\n <li>Supports piloting and scaling of innovations in field operations, technology, and process</li>\n <li>Integrates sustainability and continuous improvement into field strategy</li>\n <li>Applies agile thinking to resolve complex field issues and pivot plans when needed </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Union Engagement & Labor Relations</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interfaces with multiple unions; assists in resolving jurisdictional disputes and ensures positive working relationships</li>\n <li>Navigates complex labor environments across different regions and trade affiliations</li>\n <li>Aligns workforce availability with operational and schedule needs, in partnership with labor leadership </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualities</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with concrete, drywall, safety systems, hoisting, and equipment-intensive operations</li>\n <li>Successful track record at national General Contractors</li>\n <li>Experience building and implementing field training programs and leadership development plans</li>\n <li>Strong communicator and collaborator across all levels—executives, unions, trades, and junior team members</li>\n <li>Committed to innovation, sustainability, and building a high-performance culture</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management </li>\n <li>10-15 years of experience on a $15-50+ million commercial/ industrial construction project or multiple projects in a superintendent role </li>\n <li>Or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong technical and communication skills </li>\n <li>Excellent organizational skills </li>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs </li>\n <li>Ability to work in a team environment </li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore </li>\n <li>Knowledge of construction-documenting and drawing, with knowledge of all phases of construction </li>\n <li>Proficient in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control </li>\n <li>Must have strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan </li>\n <li>Must be able to create an environment where “safety first” is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude </li>\n <li>Ability to supervise a project team </li>\n <li>OSHA 30 hour certified </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.</p>\n<p>The pay ranges from $125,000.00 -$215,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Next 150 Construction Services has an unwavering focus on safety, the environment and caring about everyone involved in our work. </em></p>\n<p><em>Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.</em></p>\n<p><em>Next 150 Construction Services is not accepting unsolicited resumes from third party recruiters at this time.</em></p>\n<p><em>Next 150 Construction Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
