    "description": "<h2>About JerseySTEM</h2>\n<p><strong>All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.</strong>JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.</p>\n<p>Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a <strong>minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week </strong>and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>This is a pro-bono volunteer position.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8.</p>\n<p>The TECH Department Deputy Head supports the Department head and is in charge of team management and coordination tasks when the Department Head is not able to perform them.</p>\n<p>The TECH Department is comprised of 5 activities/teams:</p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>TECH.SFT Administration of Salesforce and related activities</p></li>\n <li><p>TECH.JRA Administration of JIra  and related activities</p></li>\n <li><p>TECH.GGL Administration of Google Workplace  and related activities</p></li>\n <li><p>TECH.SLK: Administration of Slack  and related activities</p></li>\n <li><p>TECH.DEV: DevOps, automation, scripting  and related activities</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Ensure Teams/Activities, led by their team leads, are operating satisfactorily</p></li>\n <li><p>Provide occasional technical oversight, depending on expertise</p></li>\n <li><p>With the support of OPEX, ensure adoption of Jira by TECH for transparency and visibility on work that needs to be done</p></li>\n <li><p>In the case of Vacancy of a team lead, act as a substitute team lead</p></li>\n <li><p>Participate in the interview of potential Candidates</p></li>\n <li><p>Attend virtual team meetings weekly </p></li>\n <li><p>5-6 hours per week, 6-12 month commitment</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap</p></li>\n <li><p>Technical background in one of the JerseySTEM Areas </p></li>\n <li><p>Strong leadership/team building skills</p></li>\n <li><p>Resourceful, can-do attitude</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience leading a function (i.e. team, department manager, etc) and managing others</p></li>\n <li><p>Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>",
