The scope of practice includes an emphasis on assessment, diagnosis, therapeutic treatment, medication management, and discharge planning needs. This position maintains accurate and up-to-date knowledge of all relevant regulations and standards regarding the provision of behavioral health services. The BH Advanced Practice Provider works with the defined scope of practice to assure the quality provision of services, collection/maintenance of data/documentation, and discharge planning/aftercare according to CVH policies and procedures. This position will also demonstrate professional/ethical behavior and support the philosophy of the Behavioral Health department, as well as CVH at all times.</span></p><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><u>POSITION REQUIREMENTS:</u></span></p><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><strong>Minimum Education</strong></span></p><ul><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>American Nurses Association credentialing certification <u>OR&nbsp;</u>Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Certificate in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing <u>OR</u> Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in psychiatry.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><strong>License Required:</strong></span></p><ul><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in the State of Nevada <u>OR</u> Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Nevada that includes prescribing and dispensing privileges in the State of Nevada.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Current DEA and Nevada State Board of Pharmacy controlled substance certificate.</li></ul><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><strong>Certificate Required:</strong></span></p><ul><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>BLS Certification (or able to obtain within 90-days of hire).</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification (or able to obtain within 90-days of hire).</li></ul><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><strong>Credentials Required:</strong></span></p><ul><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Ability to be credentialed with all CVMC payers within six (6) months of hire.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><strong>Certificate Preferred:</strong></span></p><ul><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Psychiatric-Mental Health NP Certification (PMHNP-BC) is preferred</li></ul><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><strong>Minimum Work Experience</strong></span></p><ul><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Two (2) years of direct clinical prescribing experience within a behavioral health program providing assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and crisis intervention/management.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Outpatient clinic and/or IOP experience preferred.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Must meet any applicable state certification standards.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Demonstrated skills in the areas of de-escalation, negotiation, communication (verbal and written), conflict resolution, interdisciplinary collaboration, care/case management, creative problem solving, and critical thinking.&nbsp;</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Knowledge of community mental health resources, Medicare/Medicaid practices, and insurance requirements as these relate to continuing care.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Knowledge of outpatient and inpatient behavioral health services, including community and organizational resources, and client care process.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Knowledge of medications commonly used in mental health and familiarity with medical terminology and conditions as these impact treatment and discharge needs.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Basic knowledge of quality improvement/utilization management relating to third-party payers.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, client relations, analytical, grammar/spelling, reading/comprehension of written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, and computer skills.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Knowledge of effective individual and team communication techniques.</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Knowledge of corporate compliance practices.</li></ul><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><u>POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</u></span></p><p><span style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'><strong>Client Care</strong></span></p><ul><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Assess, develop individualized plan for care, provide treatment (assessment, diagnosis, medication management, crisis intervention/management), evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, ensure quality services are delivered, and facilitate discharge planning/aftercare.&nbsp;</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Gather information from various sources and works with the case manager to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of client&rsquo;s individualized plan related to client&#39;s condition(s), presentation/participation within the program, and supporting clients in reaching outcomes/goals.&nbsp;</li><li style='font-family: \"times new roman\", serif; font-size: 16px;'>Manage time and caseload effectively.
