The Close & Consolidations Finance team at GM Financial is crucial in delivering timely and accurate financial information across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for the consolidation of financial results, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, as well as perform ongoing system setup and maintenance related to the global chart of accounts. This role provides a high degree of exposure to various aspects of our business, including financial reporting, variance analysis, and strategic planning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, gaining insights into the operational and financial drivers of our business and contributing to key strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
About the role:
The Accountant II - Close & Consolidations Systems is responsible for maintenance of the chart of accounts for general ledger reporting and participating in various other strategic and tactical initiatives. This team member will assist in the assessment of new initiatives, which include the implementation of new or updated processes and/or systems and determines the associated impact to the C&C/Accounting department.
In this role you will:
Maintain the global chart of accounts in various systems (general ledger and/or treasury management system) Participate in special projects such as Oracle ERP implementation and new accounting and reporting standards implementation Utilize knowledge of finance and accounting processes to maintain accounting controls and compliance frameworks to mitigate risks of financial statement error and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting Participate in meetings with different teams throughout the organization to develop a solid understanding of upcoming and ongoing projects and the associated impact to the department Monitor and resolve system issues Support internal management reporting, SEC reporting and quarterly/ year-end audits

Bachelor’s degree in accounting 2+ years’ experience in public or general accounting, preferably with a financial services background
