This early-career role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on UI work, interaction details, and working within a component-based system for complex enterprise workflows. You’ll partner closely with a Senior UI/UX lead and collaborate with engineering to deliver consistent, accessible interfaces. This position will work full time from our Charlotte, NC office. Executing day-to-day UI design work using established components, patterns, and guidelines. Contributing to maintaining and documenting the design system, including helping update the component library. Defining interaction details such as states, validation, empty/error states, and focus/hover behavior. Designing UI aligned with Angular Material patterns and component behavior. Preparing design assets and notes to support efficient developer handoff. Collaborating with engineers during implementation and support design QA. Supporting responsive design and accessibility standards. What You'll Bring to the Table: BA or BS degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 1-3 years of UI or digital product design experience. Portfolio required; should demonstrate strong UI craft and explain design decisions. Strong visual design skills, including layout, typography, spacing, hierarchy, and color theory. Detail-oriented with a strong eye for pixel-level UI quality and able to produce clean, consistent designs that translate well to development. Solid understanding of interaction design principles and component behavior. Familiarity with accessibility fundamentals. Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and interest in learning front-end concepts; experience with component-based frameworks is a plus. Desire to build for the long term with scalable, flexible design systems. Strong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (Figma preferred). Clear communicator who collaborates well with engineers and cross-functional partners. A growth mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-moving environment. The following items are preferred but not required: Exposure to enterprise or SaaS applications. Familiarity with Angular Material. Experience contributing to a design system or component library. Familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g., Pendo, MixPanel, Amplitude).
