analyzes, and defines business requirements and user specifications to effectively design, build, test, document, and implement Business Intelligence solutions.</p>\n<p><strong>Typical Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support Business Intelligence solution architecture, design, development, implementation, and assist with administration.</li>\n <li>Support operation and maintenance of MicroStrategy production and non-production technical environments.</li>\n <li>Support, design, build, and test MicroStrategy objects, projects, reports, dashboards, and cubes.</li>\n <li>Provide conceptual and technical knowledge of MicroStrategy architecture, software components, design, development, and integration of best practices to develop BI solutions.</li>\n <li>Support applications of advanced MicroStrategy features such as distribution services, transaction services, mobile, etc.</li>\n <li>Responsible for knowledge of database normalization, managing files for data optimization, maintaining accuracy and integrity within the database, and communicating database information to developers and users.</li>\n <li>Work closely with DBAs on data model or database changes required to support BI projects.</li>\n <li>Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs within existing or proposed systems.</li>\n <li>Responsible for creating ETL processes for the data warehouse.</li>\n <li>Responsible for building and managing data cubes and plan caches.</li>\n <li>Train users in working with MicroStrategy software and reporting.</li>\n <li>Assist with project planning, estimating, approach definition, and implementation planning.</li>\n <li>Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.</li>\n <li>Evaluate current and emerging BI industry trends and best practices when designing BI solutions.</li>\n <li>Coordinates communication with end-users, giving presentations, writing documentation, training, troubleshooting, etc.</li>\n <li>Trouble-shoots problems by being on call, analyzing the system, problem solving, etc.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned or needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Education/Experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.</li>\n <li>Must be MicroStrategy Developer certified.</li>\n <li>Minimum of 2 years of Business Intelligence work related experience.</li>\n <li>Experience in MicroStrategy Admin Suite such as Intelligence Server, Administrator, Architect, Desktop, and Web.</li>\n <li>Experience in creating MicroStrategy public objects such as metrics, filters, reports, dashboards, and mobile applications.</li>\n <li>Experience performing data profiling, modeling metadata, and developing complex integrated data sets from disparate data sources with utilization of SQL and knowledge of databases objects.</li>\n <li>Knowledge on data warehousing concepts, tools & techniques, SDLC.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of data encryption methodologies.</li>\n <li>Experience with cube and cache operations.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.</li>\n <li>Knowledge with data integration and data orchestration tools and related best-practices.</li>\n <li>Experience with operating systems (Microsoft Windows)</li>\n <li>Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Ability to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop and maintain appropriate documentation on reports, dashboards, and scorecards during the development lifecycle.</li>\n <li>Perform database analysis, design, and normalization.</li>\n <li>Apply technical skills using MicroStrategy and SQL in data collection, data analysis, and reporting to procure data from database structures to report and provide solutions to client requests.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform complex ad-hoc SQL queries in creating MicroStrategy reports.</li>\n <li>Design the dimensional model schema working with DBAs by creating schema objects such as attributes, facts, hierarchies, and understanding their relationships.</li>\n <li>Ability to diagnose environment related issues pertaining to SSL, ODBC connections, web, and mobile deployment configuration.</li>\n <li>Effectively scale and size a technical environment—including the configuration of MicroStrategy settings for optimal performance.</li>\n <li>Work with MicroStrategy product suite components including I-Server, Web Server, Mobile Server, Administration Tools, Object Manager, Distribution Services, and Transaction Services.</li>\n <li>Work collaboratively in a team environment with the ability to interact effectively with other groups in the organization.</li>\n <li>Work on one or more assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Serve on-call to production support rotation. Resolve escalated production support problems and act in a support role for developers needing assistance with urgent issues.</li>\n <li>Perform all tasks with integrity and confidentiality.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Credentials:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
