Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, varying start times between 7:45 AM and 9:00 AM, 8-hour shifts. Hours may vary based on department needs. You will float to the UW Health Clinics.</p><p><strong><u>Pay</u>:</strong></p><ul><li>External hires may be eligible for up to a $2,000 sign on bonus</li><li>Additional compensation components may include: float differential</li></ul><p><strong><u>Be part of something remarkable</u></strong></p><p>Grow your career at the #1 hospital in Wisconsin.&nbsp;</p><p>We are seeking a <strong>Lab Assistant – Float</strong> to:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages and ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling.&nbsp;</li><li>Complete specimen receiving and processing, load them onto instruments or perform the kit testing, and associated instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing).&nbsp;</li><li>Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system.</li><li>Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients.</li></ul><p><strong><u>At UW Health, you will have</u></strong>:</p><ul><li>An excellent benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, two-week paid parental leave and adoption assistance.</li><li>Access to UW Health’s Wellness Options at Work that support employee/family well-being.</li><li>Tuition benefits eligibility - UW Health invests in your professional growth by helping pay for coursework associated with career advancement.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Education</u>:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Minimum – High school diploma or equivalent</p><p>Preferred&nbsp;–&nbsp;Completion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program and clinical rotation</p><p><strong><u>Work Experience</u></strong>:</p><p>Minimum – Six Months of Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Experience</p><p>Preferred – One year of experience in phlebotomy and processing</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Certifications</u></strong>:</p><p>Preferred – Phlebotomist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent or Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent</p><div style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400;margin:0px;padding:0px;text-decoration-color:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-thickness:initial;\"><p><strong><u>Our commitment to Social Impact and Belonging</u></strong> UW Health is committed to fostering a workplace that creates belonging for everyone and is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
