Description
The R&M Supervisor is responsible for leading workshop operations to ensure all maintenance and repair activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to implement effective maintenance strategies that support operational excellence.
Responsibilities
SAFETY LEADERSHIP
Champion and promote a strong safety culture across the workshop. Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Conduct toolbox talks, hazard identification, and risk assessments. Lead incident prevention initiatives and ensure proper reporting, investigation, and follow-up actions.
QUALITY LEADERSHIP
Ensure all repair and maintenance work meets established quality standards and specifications. Drive adherence to inspection, testing, and certification requirements. Promote a “right-first-time” mindset and continuous improvement in quality performance. Investigate non-conformance issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
Plan and coordinate workshop activities to meet operational and project demands. Ensure equipment readiness, reliability, and availability. Optimize manpower utilization and resource allocation to improve efficiency. Monitor work progress and ensure timely completion of tasks.
TEAM LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT
Supervise, coach, and develop technicians to enhance competency and performance. Ensure discipline, attendance, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Foster teamwork, accountability, and a high-performance culture. Act as the first point of escalation for operational and personnel issues. Engage team members in continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
PROCESS AND COMPLIANCE
Ensure compliance with company procedures, standards, and systems (e.g., labor capture, maintenance records). Lead and support implementation of Lean principles to improve efficiency, productivity, and eliminate waste. Drive 5S practices within the workshop to maintain organization, cleanliness, and workplace discipline. Support audits and ensure closure of findings.
STAKE HOLDER COORDINATION
Liaise with planning, supply chain, operations, engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth execution. lead coordination between workshop and field operation teams to meet operational needs.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years related experience in supervisory and leading the repair and maintenance / manufacturing team. Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering Diploma / Degree.
Skills
Understanding of basic administration and supervisory management, such as resource planning, inventory management, production scheduling, and coordination of people and resources. Familiarity with quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) standards in the oil and gas industry Knowledge of Lean tools (e.g., waste elimination, process improvement) and 5S implementation. Fundamentals of Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics knowledge. Proficient in critical thinking, active learning & listening, and complex problem solving. Strong in reading and writing skills with the ability to interpret technical documentation, policies, & procedures. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
