Learn more at www.dminc.com</p>\n<h2>About the Opportunity</h2>\n<p>DMI, LLC is seeking a <strong>AV Technician </strong>to join us. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The AV Lead Technician is responsible for the end-to-end operation, optimisation, and leadership of enterprise audio-visual systems supporting legislative sessions, hearings, and high-visibility events. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring seamless AV performance, rapid issue resolution, and continuous system improvement.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead and oversee daily AV operations across MGA and DLS facilities, including chambers, committee rooms, and conference environments. </li>\n <li>Supervise and mentor a small team of AV technicians; assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure high-quality service delivery. </li>\n <li>Act as the primary escalation point for complex AV issues, ensuring rapid troubleshooting and resolution during live sessions and events. </li>\n <li>Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of audio, video, lighting, streaming, and broadcasting systems. </li>\n <li>Coordinate with vendors, integrators, and internal stakeholders for system upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management. </li>\n <li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including system optimisation, process standardisation, and documentation enhancements. </li>\n <li>Maintain and enforce best practices, SOPs, and operational standards for AV systems and support processes. </li>\n <li>Oversee and maintain inventory management, asset tracking, and system documentation. </li>\n <li>Provide advanced training and guidance to ITO staff, end users, and stakeholders on AV system usage and best practices. </li>\n <li>Support planning and execution of large-scale or high-profile events, ensuring flawless AV delivery. </li>\n <li>Ensure readiness for legislative deadlines, including after-hours and overtime support as required. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education and Years of Experience:  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate or Bachelor’s degree in <strong>Broadcast Engineering, Communications Technology, or related field</strong> (or equivalent experience). </li>\n <li><strong>5–8+ years of progressive AV experience</strong>, including enterprise AV environments. </li>\n <li>Proven experience in a <strong>lead or supervisory role</strong>, managing or mentoring technical teams. </li>\n <li>Strong experience with <strong>AV networking, AVoIP systems, and infrastructure</strong>. </li>\n <li>Hands-on experience supporting <strong>enterprise hybrid environments (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)</strong>. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to <strong>handle high-pressure, live event environments</strong> with minimal supervision. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills & Certifications: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Mediasite™ (Monitor, encoders/recorders) </li>\n <li>AJA HELO encoders/recorders </li>\n <li>BiAmp Tesira DSP systems </li>\n <li>Brahler and Sennheiser conferencing systems </li>\n <li>Crestron DM Matrix, DM-NVX (AVoIP), controllers, and touch panels </li>\n <li>Crestron XiO Cloud or similar AV management platforms </li>\n <li>Assisted listening systems and distribution </li>\n <li>Strong understanding of AV over IP, signal flow, and system integration </li>\n <li>AVIXA CTS / CTS-D / CTS-I (highly preferred)</li>\n <li>CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ </li>\n <li>Any relevant AV or networking certifications </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Background Requirements: </strong>Successful completion of a Fingerprint background investigation.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Citizenship Status Required: </strong>H 1B</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong> None required for this position.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Location: </strong>Department of Legislative Services,  Maryland General Assembly, 90 State Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401</p>\n<h2>Working at DMI</h2>\n<p>DMI is a diverse, prosperous, and rewarding place to work.
