Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across Memorial Health to apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies, facilitate change, and sustain measurable improvements in clinical and operational outcomes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a Performance Improvement Consultant I, this role operates under the direct supervision and mentorship of a certified Black Belt. This role typically focuses on department or unit-level projects of moderate scope, applying Lean Six Sigma tools within a defined area to drive localized performance improvement.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>To review Memorial's Benefits click here: Benefits - Memorial HR</strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><em>Education:</em>• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Organizational Behavior, Healthcare Management or related field required.• In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 3 years related experience will be considered.<em>Licensure/Certification/Registry:</em>• American Society of Quality (ASQ) Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification required within 6 months of hire (ASQ Yellow Belt required as a prerequisite if not currently eligible for Green Belt certification)• Once achieved, Yellow/Green Belt certification must be maintained through the ASQ recertification process.<em>Experience:</em>• 0-2 years of on-the-job experience in one or more areas of the American Society of Quality (ASQ) Body of Knowledge preferred (Six Sigma, Lean Principles, Project Management).• Experience leading small to mid-scale projects directed at improving health outcomes, patient safety, and productivity management. • Experience with healthcare regulatory standards (e.g. Joint Commission, IDPH) or the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Health Care criteria desired.<em>Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</em> • Ability to perform complex data analysis, draw conclusions, and convey recommendations to all levels of the organization through written reports and group presentations. • Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of a Black Belt, while progressively building autonomy.• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QI Macros/Minitab, and simulation software• Familiarity with clinical workflows, EHRs, and healthcare data sources• Ability to work in a team environment and to promote cooperation, collaboration, and high performance within and across disciplines. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. • Ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Strategic Quality and Performance Improvement</strong></p>\n<li> Lead and sustain departmental or unit-level improvement projects under direct supervision of a Black Belt. </li>\n<li> Apply Six Sigma methods to reduce variation, increase efficiency, and elevate care delivery standards. </li>\n<li> Support Black Belts and Master Black Belts in large, cross-functional projects and contribute to system-level improvement initiatives.</li>\n<p><strong>Data Analysis and Risk Assessment</strong></p>\n<li> Develop data collection plans and perform analysis to support improvement projects.</li>\n<li> Conduct risk assessments and contribute to FMEAs under Black Belt supervision.</li>\n<p><strong>Metrics and Reporting</strong></p>\n<li> Track and report on project progress, KPIs, and outcomes within assigned scope.</li>\n<li> Escalate barriers and risks to Quality Leadership.</li>\n<p><strong>Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration</strong></p>\n<li> Engage with unit and departmental-level stakeholders to identify and implement improvements.</li>\n<li> Serve as a liaison between frontline teams and Quality Leadership on broader initiatives.</li>\n<li> Collaborate with the Quality Improvement Manager and Director to scope quality improvement opportunities aligned with system goals.</li>\n<p><strong>Training, Mentorship, and Education</strong></p>\n<li> Educate colleagues on basic Lean Six Sigma concepts, tools, and techniques. </li>\n<li> Actively participate in mentoring from Black Belts and Master Black Belts to further develop skills.</li>\n<li> Design and deliver Lean Six Sigma education throughout the health system.</li>\n<p><strong>Professional Development and Community Engagement</strong></p>\n<li> Maintain professional growth through continuing education, seminars, workshops, and ASQ certification requirements. </li>\n<li> Participate in networking and community outreach that supports Memorial Health’s mission.</li>\n<p><strong>Other Duties</strong></p>\n<li> Perform other related work as required or requested.</li>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><em>The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
