    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Title: </strong>Licensed Vocation Nurse – Medical Standards Management Element</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Hours of Performance:</strong></p>\n<p>The performance hours of the MTF are as follows: Normal business hours are 0730-1630, Monday-Friday. Inpatient wards, Emergency Room, and ancillary areas operate on a 24/7 basis. The Contractor’s duty week will not exceed a 40-hour work week (normal schedule) or 80 hours in a two-week period (alternate work schedule).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> Scheduling:</strong></p>\n<p>The schedule or scheduling process is as follows: The normal duty schedule is either 0700-1600 or 0730-1630 Monday-Friday or Flex shifts. Flex shifts are utilized to support mission requirements not Contactor preference and must be approved by the Government Supervisor and the COR. Flex shifts can consist of 8, 9, or 10 hour shifts and will not exceed 80 hours in a two week pay period. Schedule changes shall be published by the Government Supervisor two weeks prior to implementation of the new shift.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Pay rate:</strong> $37.75/hr + $4.93*/hr for Health & Wellness</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Benefits:</strong> Vested vacation, sick leave, holiday leave, Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Short Term Disability</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Optional Benefits:</strong> Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(K) matching with employee participation in 401(K) plan</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Duties: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Complete assigned patient care based on the patients’ conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient information.</li>\n <li>Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.</li>\n <li>Observe, identify, and respond to the patient’s needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care and patient/family education.</li>\n <li>Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.</li>\n <li>Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance of the RN and/or MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.</li>\n <li>Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient’s condition before, during, and following the procedure.</li>\n <li>Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of practice.</li>\n <li>Integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families and employee satisfaction.</li>\n <li>Participate in Flight and Operational Medicine Clinic (FOMC) functions, to include, but not limited to patient care, meetings, administrative duties, and training as required.</li>\n <li>Participate in Base Operational Medicine Clinic (BOMC) functions, to include but not limited to patient care, meetings, administrative duties, and training as required. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Degree/Education:</strong> Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the national accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant or a graduate from any military equivalent technical training school.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support:</strong> None.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong> One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Board Certification:</strong> None</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure/Registration:</strong> Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>AKAHI ASSOCIATES LLC</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Akahi Associates is a premier provider of healthcare workers to various military treatment facilities across the United States.
