Description
Position Overview
The Quality Inspectors role is primarily responsible for reviewing outgoing quality and line support for quality related questions. The inspectors mainly interface with manufacturing employees, production line leads and quality technicians.
They are responsible for monitoring products received from IEC production personnel to determine conformance to established company standards. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in inspection of assembled electronic products.
Quality Inspector I Responsibilities:
Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical and/or electrical inspection utilizing standard documentation, procedures and precision measuring devices to support final inspection Accept/reject for conformance to standards and specifications Verify compliance to applicable standards and other approved documentation Inspection of completed assemblies (PCBA’s and Higher level assemblies) Maintain files and records as required Communicate professionally and effectively with internal customers Perform QA data entry into production MRP/MES software systems Maintain nonconforming material in the MRB area Ability to interpret and understand PCB/PCBA workmanship standards and component identification (IPC-600, 610, 620) Clear and concise written communication (i.e. emails, documentation, quality records, etc.) Working both independently and in a team environment Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management Possess a team building attitude Processing and approving manufacturing first article inspections Additional Responsibilities may include: Ability to use various measuring tools, such as micrometers, height gauge, rulers, gauges, dial and digital calipers
Position Qualifications:
High School Graduate required Minimum of 1 years of prior experience in fabrication of bare circuit boards or assembly of electronic products Ability to read & interpret technical design documentation (PD’s), BOMs and wire diagrams (preferred) IPC 600, 610, 620 Certification preferred J-STD-001, ASQ-CQI Certification preferred Some knowledge in quality control of electronic and electromechanical parts, assemblies and finished products IEC FQA experience strongly preferred
Computer Skills:
Intermediate Microsoft Word skills as evidenced by the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as create moderately complex documents containing tables and graphs, and ability to mail merge documents, apply page setup functions (margins, page numbers, footers, headers), create an index and/or table of contents, use search & replace, print labels and envelopes.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills as evidenced by the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as the ability to use workbooks, link data, create and edit charts, change page orientation, add headers and footers, filter and sort lists, format data, insert rows, enter and sort data and produce graphs and charts.
Administration:

Physical Activity Requirements
Work Environment: Manufacturing environment where the noise level is low to moderately noisy Work Position: Sitting, Standing, Walking around Body Movements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Weight Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs Sensory Requirements: Vision, speech, hearing, smell and touch are routinely used in day to day functions
