This position will also interact with current and potential referral sources, including physicians, case managers, office managers, etc. as a point of contact between referrals and operations to ensure service and quality expectations are met.</p><p><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b>: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.</p><ul><li>Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine their appliance needs and to identify factors that could affect appliance fit.</li><li>Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, and make adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort.</li><li>Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses/prostheses.</li><li>Maintain patient records.</li><li>Confer with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthotic and prosthetic devices.</li><li>Repair and modify orthotic /prosthetic appliances.</li><li>Update skills and knowledge by attending conferences and seminars.</li><li>Show and explain orthotic /prosthetic appliances to healthcare workers.</li><li>Activities include identification, development and retention of key referral sources.</li><li>Work closely with management in developing sales goals and objective.</li><li>Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures as they relate to the above duties.</li><li>Must maintain a genuine care and concern for patients and their families.</li><li>Must be available to work on call.</li><li>Must possess a personal vehicle in good working condition in order to perform site and home visits.</li><li>Provide orthotics education for HME employees.</li><li>Assist in the coordination of orthotics/prosthetics inventory levels.</li><li>Conduct in-services for referral sources and other related groups.</li><li>Must complete monthly expense/mileage reports as required by manager.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive and positive with internal and external customers and coworkers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p><p><b>Education and/or Experience</b></p><ul><li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED).</li><li>College degree in an allied health field or other related area preferred.</li><li>Must be certified by ABC and/or BOC as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist.</li><li>A strong background in patient care and customer service.</li><li>Familiarity with payer source requirements and legal aspects is beneficial.</li><li>Two years of related clinical experience preferred.</li></ul><p><b>Skills &amp; Abilities</b></p><ul><li>The ability to represent Hart Medical Equipment and self in a courteous, dynamic and engaging manner and to build confidence/trust with customers, referrals and other employees.</li><li>Advanced written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Self- starting, able to break down objectives within the strategic and marketing plans into actionable steps and able to execute these steps.</li><li>Ability to identify potential referral sources and develop relationships built on trust with these referral sources.</li><li>Commitment to high ethical standards.</li><li>Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment.</li></ul><p><b>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</b></p><p>Must be certified by ABC and/or BOC as a CPO or BOCPO</p><p><b>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</b></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
