Substitute teachers are on call and responsible for monitoring and maintaining a safe learning environment in place of the classroom teacher. Substitute teachers are responsible for following plans prepared by the classroom teacher.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">The Christian school substitute teacher should be a college graduate from a 4-year accredited university.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Essential Duties</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">The following expectations for Substitute teachers at Calvin Christian School.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">In faithful living one is expected to: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Be committed to obeying Christ, your Redeemer.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Have a regular and active devotional life.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Practice love, joy, patience, kindness, self-control, gentleness, faithfulness, and truthfulness.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Model biblical principles in making choices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Be humble in spirit but bold in Christ-like practice.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Be conscientious and responsible.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">In teaching a class one is expected to:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">engage students' attention.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">follow plans as prepared by original classroom teacher</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">show interest and wonder in all learning.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Bachelor’s degree required. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Experience</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Illinois Substitute Certificate (preferred). </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Experience working in a school and with children. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Required Spiritual Qualifications </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Must have and profess a personal and mature commitment to faith in Jesus Christ and affirm the school’s statement of faith/basis of instruction and mission statement. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Must believe, without reservation, and actively support the school’s Statement of Faith, Foundational Beliefs, and mission statement; possess a strong, clear Christian testimony; demonstrate a mature, godly spirit as a person of faith and prayer.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Supervisory Responsibility</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">None.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Required Hours</span></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Monday through Friday 7:45am to 3:30pm, as needed</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Physical Requirements</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Sit and stand for long periods of time.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Speak clearly so listeners can understand.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Understand the speech of another person.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Must be able to work in a demanding work environment.  </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, read, see and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to type, handle, or feel and reach. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
