Provides accounting and clerical support to the accounting department for effective handling of financial records and operations. Plans, directs, and coordinates human resources functions such as recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities The Accounting Specialist will be an integral part of the accounting team, reporting directly to the Controller. The candidate must be well versed in accounting policies and procedures and is proficient in Excel. The ideal candidate is willing to learn, self-motivated, a team player and does not mind going above and beyond when needed. The hourly pay for this position is $20/hr. Responsibilities included but are not limited to: Working knowledge of all accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounts Payable, and full-range Accounting duties. Ability to work and grow in a deadline- & procedural-driven environment. Maintain close working relationship with the general manager and controller to coordinate facility objectives while assisting in cost improvement initiatives. Process and reconcile a wide variety of accounting documents such as invoices, billings, cash receipts, vendor statements and journal entries. Review and code financial information, customer payments, profit and loss statement, and other reports. Contributes to team by sharing responsibility and accomplishing results. Assist Controller on Month End close, reporting requirements and reconciliations. Documented work history of cross-trained, enthusiastic, small office work environment, Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures. Reconciles financial discrepancies by reviewing account information. Maintains financial security by following internal controls. Performs basic audit functions to ensure proper posting to accounts. Performs benefit and payroll problem resoiution. Qualifications HS diploma, or GED equivalent, and 2-5 years experience in payroll/HR is required. Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required. Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of labor law required.
