This role is responsible for finishing and packaging tubing products for the Shipping Department to ensure they are properly prepared for shipment to customers. The Shipper will safely operate equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of safe work practices. This role is located in <strong>Duncansville, PA</strong> and will be fully on-site. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Starting Pay: </strong>$19.77/hr plus $0.40 Shift Differential</p>\n<p><strong>Schedule: </strong>Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with occassional weekends</p>\n<p><strong>Training Schedule:</strong> 60-90 day training period on 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm</p>\n<p><strong>Pay Schedule: </strong>Weekly</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Shipper </strong><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and policies, including use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.</li>\n <li>Maintains effective communication with other employees, including supervisor/management and during shift changes.</li>\n <li>Finishes and packs tubing in preparation for shipping to the customer.</li>\n <li>Obtains material from storage area and proper packing materials from storage, including boxes, corners, bracing, nails, tape, or banding, etc.</li>\n <li>Prepares and weighs, visually inspects while packing and submits samples to lab.  Will attach label if necessary.</li>\n <li>Performs the hooking and unhooking of loads for the Crane Operator and helps load trucks.</li>\n <li>Performs the duty of weighing and recording each individual shipping container and records all pertinent information as required and checks the scales every 2 hours.</li>\n <li>Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work environment.</li>\n <li>Maintains knowledge of all aspects of the Shipping Department.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates proficiency in the various tasks identified on the machine’s training evaluation form.</li>\n <li>Able to work overtime as business needs require.</li>\n <li>Cross trains within the Shipping Department and other areas as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Shipper Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains thorough knowledge of equipment/machine specific SOP’s</li>\n <li>Successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training</li>\n <li>Demonstrates proficient knowledge in utilizing measuring devices</li>\n <li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull and reach throughout the shift</li>\n <li>Manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and small components</li>\n <li>Maximum individual lifting restriction: 40 lbs per person</li>\n <li>Use of mechanical aids (carts, lifts, hoists) required for heavier loads</li>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li>\n <li>Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience is a plus, but not required</li>\n <li>Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Joining Wieland’s team gives you…</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Benefits</strong> - Including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life & more!</li>\n <li><strong>Retirement Savings</strong> - 401(k) contribution + match.</li>\n <li><strong>Work/Life Balance</strong> - Paid Vacation & Holidays.</li>\n <li><strong>Growth Opportunities</strong> - We have over 9,000+ employees worldwide and 40+ locations in North America alone.
