This position will primarily be responsible for learning how to safely and efficiently maintain and operate a rock drill machine. Apprentices will operate drills all over the Pacific Northwest in the woods, at rock pits, quarries, development sites, and even highway projects. Apprentices may also at times assist the blast crew with loading and unloading explosives from the truck and help carry buckets of crushed stone to stem blast holes. The ideal candidate will be physically fit and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be willing to travel and stay out of town when needed.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">McCallum Rock Drilling (MRD) is a rock drilling and blasting contractor based out of Chehalis, WA, that has been in business since 1988.
