Join a team where your contributions support mission-critical infrastructure that shapes communities.<br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></p>\n<p>PrimECS is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bidding &amp; Estimating Intern to support our Preconstruction team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a wide range of estimating and bidding responsibilities integral to civil construction projects.</p>\n<p>You will work closely with experienced estimators and project managers to support the development of accurate, competitive, and well-documented bids and proposals. This role offers a comprehensive exposure to the estimating process, from quantity takeoffs to vendor pricing research.</p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in quantity takeoffs using construction drawings and specifications for concrete, earthwork, utilities, and other heavy civil scopes.</li>\n<li>Support the preparation of detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor components.</li>\n<li>Conduct market research and solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to support cost validations and comparisons.</li>\n<li>Participate in the preparation of bid proposals, including writing narrative sections and organizing bid documents.</li>\n<li>Help maintain estimating tools and databases, ensuring current unit cost information and historical pricing data are available.</li>\n<li>Review plans, specifications, and addenda to identify scope, risk areas, and opportunities.</li>\n<li>Support coordination efforts between internal departments and external partners during the bidding phase.</li>\n<li>Perform miscellaneous estimating tasks as needed to support the success of the bid.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.</li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project delivery methods.</li>\n<li>Strong analytical and math skills with an eye for detail.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, HCSS, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar) is a plus.</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and organizational skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.</li>\n<li>Interest in heavy civil construction and preconstruction processes.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Gain</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hands-on experience in real-world estimating and bidding processes.</li>\n<li>Exposure to a wide range of civil construction projects and techniques.</li>\n<li>Mentorship from experienced professionals in the industry.</li>\n<li>Opportunity to contribute to high-impact infrastructure work.</li>\n</ul>",
