    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY is currently recruiting for a Health Information Technology Faculty.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Onondaga Community College's School of Health, Wellness and Human Services seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track appointment within the Health Information Technology, AAS and Healthcare Administration AS programs.  The major responsibilities within this role include support of the two programs through the development and delivery of content and learning activities in the traditional face-to-face classroom setting, academic advising, curriculum development, committee participation, and assessment of program and student learning outcomes. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>The successful candidate will: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Use appropriate technology to deliver and enhance learning</li>\n <li>Be innovative in the presentation of lectures and hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes</li>\n <li>Provide timely feedback on students' assignments and exams throughout each semester</li>\n <li>Assess learning outcomes and adapt curriculum to meet learning objectives</li>\n <li>Be responsive to student questions and available for student support</li>\n <li>Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education</li>\n <li>Review and validate current affiliation agreements while exploring new opportunities for partnerships for student internships with local and regional community agencies</li>\n <li>Provide appropriate academic advising to students to support timely degree completion</li>\n <li>Be accountable to meet the needs of the Department and the College, including timely submission of grades and other required materials.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Min Compensation </h2>USD $61,466.00/Yr.\n<h2>Max Compensation </h2>USD $61,466.00/Yr.\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Option 1:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management from an accredited college, university, or foreign equivalent</li>\n <li>RHIA credential (Registered Health Information Administrator)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Option 2:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from an accredited college, university, or foreign equivalent</li>\n <li>Supported by:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Associate's degree in Health Information Technology with <strong>RHIT credential</strong> (Registered Health Information Technician) and a Bachelor's degree in a related health field; <strong>OR</strong></li>\n   <li>Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Three years of experience in a healthcare delivery system required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Teaching experience at a college level, asynchronous online experience beneficial</li>\n <li>Master's degree from an accredited college, university, or foreign equivalency</li>\n <li>Experience with curriculum development</li>\n <li>Experience with course level, program level, and institutional assessment</li>\n <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE.
