    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Summary</strong><br>\n  Senior Estimator manages and assists in the compilation of estimates for various projects and is responsible for cost accuracy.&nbsp; A Senior Estimator gives appropriate responses to the Owners requirements and maintains a high level of professionalism in estimating.&nbsp; A Senior Estimator reports to the SBU Executive; alternatively, the Senior Estimator may report to the Chief Estimator at the SBU Executives direction.</p>\n<p><strong>Duties</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.</li>\n <li>Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prepares estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.</li>\n <li>Reads, understands, and offers improvements to the contract documents (plans, specifications &amp; addenda).&nbsp; Offers Value-Engineering and Life-Cycle cost options for review.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Performs quantity take-offs, organizes, prices, and analyzes information.</li>\n <li>Understands the difference between the narrow focus of just cost estimating services and the broader scope of preconstruction services.</li>\n <li>Works well with Architects and Owners and provides leadership in the preconstruction process and demonstrates best practices throughout preconstruction.</li>\n <li>Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.&nbsp; Creates listings of appropriate contacts for specific projects.</li>\n <li>Communicates with subs and suppliers to clarify pricing information.&nbsp; Determines the suitability and competitive stance of subs and suppliers.</li>\n <li>Prepares and analyzes estimate formats in such areas as general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs and bid analysis.</li>\n <li>Is responsible for the preparation of bid proposal for submittal.</li>\n <li>Attends Owner meetings during estimate development.</li>\n <li>Prepares detailed schedules for proposed projects.</li>\n <li>Initiates various special projects related to estimating.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assists and guides staff towards completion of special projects.</li>\n <li>Initiates schematic plans or sketches to illustrate approach and strategy.</li>\n <li>Performs other related duties as assigned or required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.5in\">&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent education and experience.</li>\n <li>Over seven years’ experience in estimating commercial construction projects, demonstrating competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.</li>\n <li>Possesses sufficient knowledge of all construction systems and disciplines, including mechanical and electrical, in order to complete comprehensive cost estimates without assistance from others.</li>\n <li>Good working knowledge of self-performed concrete construction.</li>\n <li>Has experience in estimating at all stages of design: conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.</li>\n <li>Understands and utilizes proven estimating and bidding strategies.</li>\n <li>Fully understands and practices the principles of Target Value Design.</li>\n <li>Has the ability to utilize the latest estimating software used by Layton.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Proven working knowledge of Destini Estimator software, BlueBeam, Assemble, and other latest software and technology.</li>\n <li>Ability to work under pressure, meets tight deadlines, and coordinate team members.</li>\n <li>Has integrity: maintains normal standards of ethics, conduct, and organizational policies in job-related activities.</li>\n <li>Ability to operate office equipment, computer, printer, phone, copier, fax, etc.</li>\n <li>Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.</li>\n <li>Presents well in interviews and in all meetings with clients.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Excellent knowledge of construction practices, methods, trends and crew data.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Revit and Primavera systems.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><i>The full salary range for this position is $150,000 &nbsp;to $180,000.&nbsp;This position is eligible for a target bonus.</i></span></p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;</span><strong>Benefits</strong>:&nbsp;The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, Life &amp;
