What You'll Do We’re looking for a Toolmaker who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys variety in their day, and wants to contribute directly to product innovation to join our R&D team at our Innovation Center in Rosemount. The Toolmaker looks at a sketch, visualizes the finished part, and knows exactly how to bring the product to life. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Interpret Specifications: Study sketches, models, and descriptions to determine materials, machining approach, and sequence of operations. Plan & Build Tooling: Compute dimensions, plan layouts, determine assembly methods, and build tooling to spec within scheduled timelines. Operate CNC & Manual Machines: Run lathes, CNC mills, grinders, cutting tables, and other shop equipment with precision. Verify & Improve Designs: Check dimensions, alignment, and clearances; recommend des modifications based on function and manufacturability Repair, Modify & Prototype: Fabricate prototypes, construct fixtures, sharpen tools, and machine close‑tolerance parts. Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized. Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with the Prototype Shop Manager and use Wrike to track timelines and updates. What We're Looking For This position requires a High school Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 2-5 years of experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines. Other qualifications include: Knowledge of MasterCam and SolidWorks Ability to resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others Basic computer skills including competence in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Ability to receive, understand, and follow all written and oral instructions Excellent interpersonal skills What We’ll Provide A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $32-38 per hour at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
