font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Areas of Responsibility:</span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Day to Day Substitutes: Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Assist with morning drop off and afternoon pickup if required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">As students arrive, encourage promptness in unpacking their backpack, turning in homework, turning in notes to teacher and hot lunch money.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Communicate with parents as needed in the event of an injury or behavior incident.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Accompany student to the office to take temperature or to call parent if the student is not feeling well.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Take students to and from their daily resources (i.e. art, p.e., music, computer lab).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Monitor behavior on the playground during recess.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Grade papers and record grades in the grade book at the direction of the teacher.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Monitor students during class time to ensure they are on task and focused on the lesson being given.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Assist students as needed with class work assignments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Encourage and reward positive behavior.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Make copies of various items needed for instruction.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Share responsibility with teacher of vacuuming the classroom and taking out the trash.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Substitute in other classrooms of the same grade or a different grade as requested by the office or trainers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Monitor students during assemblies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Share responsibility with teacher to ensure all children are evacuated and accounted for during a fire drill.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Share responsibility with teacher to ensure all children are in proper posture and accounted for during a tornado drill.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Share responsibility with teacher to ensure all safeguards are in place during a lock down.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Share responsibility with teacher to alert maintenance of items that need attention in the classroom/playground.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Share responsibility with teacher to ensure that all items are completed on checklists for the classroom, given before all breaks and at the end of the school year.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">In addition to the above items, long term substitutes must:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Grade papers and record grades in the grade book at the direction of the teacher.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Process hot lunch money and order hot lunch on a weekly basis if required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Process paperwork and money for field trips.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">Process paperwork for school pictures, income surveys, immunization forms, and various other items that have been sent home for information and returned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Other Duties: </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">The position of Substitute Teacher reports to the grade level teacher and administrators.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 10pt\">A High School Diploma is required.
