    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>This position is a 1.0 FTE position located in the Office of Special Education at the Syphax Education Center. The holder of this position reports directly to the Supervisor of Special Education</p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>\n Complete appropriate assessments and reports on students referred for speech and language evaluation in<br>\n required timelines.<br>\n Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes but not limited to teachers, reading specialist, EL teachers,<br>\n other related service providers.<br>\n Vary instructional techniques and service delivery to meet individual students needs emphasizing integration and<br>\n the general education curriculum.<br>\n Participate in review of assessment information for referred students as a member of the multidisciplinary team.<br>\n Develop, implement and monitor IEP goals and objectives.<br>\n Maintain current and appropriate student data records.<br>\n Participate in continuing professional education and research.<br>\n Support assistive technology assessments and services.<br>\n Provide assessment and treatment for multilingual and limited English proficient students who are disabled.<br>\n Screen all students new to Arlington Public Schools.<br>\n Ability to write clear and concise reports of evaluations and progress.<br>\n Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.<br>\n Familiarity with a variety of service delivery models and speech therapy treatment modalities.<br>\n Participate in pre-referral intervention for students.<br>\n EXPERIENCE:<br>\n Experience in the above mentioned area<br>\n Knowledge of best instructional practices<br>\n Ability to integrate technology<br>\n Experience in educational and instructional leadership<br>\n Dual endorsed preferred<br>\n Bilingual skills preferred<br>\n QUALIFICATIONS:<br>\n Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.<br>\n Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.<br>\n The Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology shall issue licenses to such persons without examination,<br>\n upon review of credentials and payment of an application fee in accordance with regulations of the Board for school<br>\n speech-language pathologists.<br>\n Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is<br>\n preferred but not required.</p>\n<p>Salary:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Salary based on the 2026-27 T-Scale salary schedule.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<div>\n <strong>Arlington Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer</strong>\n</div>\n<div>\n &nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n <strong>It is the policy of the Arlington School Board, as stated in Policy G-2.30, Employee Relations – Equal Employment Opportunity - that “Employment opportunities shall not be restricted, abridged or otherwise adversely affected on the basis of race, national origin, creed, color, religion, gender, age, economic status, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, genetic information, gender identity or expression, and/or disability.</strong>\n</div>",
