Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder is adding a Survey Crew Leader in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities:
Act as chief of a survey crew and supervise all work in the field.
Perform the more difficult survey measurement tasks using total station, GPS and other electronic survey equipment.
Make decisions on all field problems, consulting with office staff and supervisor as needed.
Take field notes and prepare maps and sketches from survey data.
Read and interpret plans and blueprints.
Make necessary mathematical computations.
Operate and supervise the use of all survey equipment including: GPS receivers, theodolite instrument, levels, electronic distance meter, electronic total station, electronic data collector, laser level, Philadelphia and linker rods and level.
Check all work preformed by field survey crew.
Train and instruct crew members on the proper use and care of survey equipment.
Frequently drive to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings.
Consult with various city, county and private utilities and construction foremen.
Qualifications:
Highschool diploma or GED, including or supplemented by course work in engineering, field surveying and/or Mathematics.
Minimum of 5 years of field survey experience as an instrument person.
Ability to prepare work and observation reports and make surveying computations.
Strong oral and written communication skills and outstanding attention to detail.
Knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
Current/valid State Driver's License with demonstrated safe driving practices required.
