C&I Sales - New Business The Commercial & Industrial Sales - New Business role is an experienced business development position focused on finding, qualifying, and advancing high-value commercial and industrial solar opportunities. The role focuses on targeting well-established organizations within the Commercial and Industrial sector, using their existing network, industry experience, and strong executive relationships to open doors and build a strong project pipeline. This person also builds and grows relationships with Commercial general contractors and Commercial electrical contractors to increase tender and referral opportunities. They will work closely with internal technical design teams to shape and qualify opportunities, then hand off high-quality projects to senior sales to close. This position is remote and open to candidates located anywhere in the Lower Mainland region . Core Responsibilities: Business Development & Prospecting Proactively identify, pursue, and originate new Commercial and Industrial solar and/or storage opportunities Leverage an established network and existing book of business to accelerate deal origination Open doors with senior decision-makers, including C-suite, asset managers, facilities leaders, and finance executives Build and maintain a robust, qualified pipeline aligned with revenue and growth targets Relationship Management Show clients that you understand their business and can deliver Develop long-term relationships with owners, operators, and key decision-makers Act as a trusted advisor, not a transactional salesperson Work through complex decision-making processes within large organizations Energy & Technical Advisory Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems Use energy expertise to find solutions that reduce costs and emissions and meet client needs Clearly explain Utility (ie. BC Hydro) incentives, limitations, and interconnection requirements Work closely with SkyFire design, estimating, and engineering teams to confirm proof of concept Financial & Commercial Acumen Lead conversations about costs, savings, financial returns, and long-term value Complete financial modeling to illustrate benefits Help build business cases that make sense for large organizations Understand how clients fund projects and make investment decisions Deal Advancement & Internal Collaboration Qualify opportunities and pass strong, well-defined projects to the internal team Keep CRM notes, pipeline, and forecasts accurate and up to date Work closely with internal teams and SMEs to move deals forward Represent the company at industry events and networking meetings, which may occur outside of regular office hours Experience & Qualifications Proven success in C&I sales or business development, with a hunter/prospector focus Established contacts and book of business within the commercial and industrial sectors Demonstrated experience selling large-scale energy or infrastructure projects Advanced financial literacy with the ability to engage senior decision makers Core Competencies Builds trust quickly and is seen as credible and professional Proactively prospects and opens new C&I accounts through outbound outreach Engages prospects in early conversations to uncover needs and confirm fit Identifies key stakeholders and understands how buying decisions are made Qualifies opportunities thoroughly and prepares clear handoffs to senior sales leaders Takes ownership of top-of-funnel pipeline creation and activity levels Collaborate with cross-functional teams Resilient and driven, maintaining momentum through rejection and slow responses Benefits: Salary range is $80K - $100K plus commission.
