(BGC)</strong> is a family owned and operated heavy civil construction services and site contracting company based in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. <strong>BGC</strong> provides full-service site contracting and heavy civil construction services in the following core service areas: complete site and land development, demolition, transportation & structures, water & wastewater, design-build and value engineering and emergency response.</p>\n<p>Founded in 1971, <strong>BGC</strong> remains dedicated to providing our customers and clients with exceptional service and finished products of the highest quality.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why work for Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies.</li>\n <li>Moves levers and depresses pedals to control operation, function and movement of machine.</li>\n <li>Feels lever and listens for stalling action of engine to operate equipment most efficiently.</li>\n <li>Cleans equipment as scheduled.</li>\n <li>Ensures equipment is safely and securely parked and stored.</li>\n <li>Maintains equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level).</li>\n <li>Performs daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition.</li>\n <li>Notifies shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions</p>\n<ul>\n <li>One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school OR six months of related experience and/or training\n  <ul>\n   <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Able to pass practical skills test for heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, and loaders</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills\n  <ul>\n   <li>Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals</li>\n   <li>Write routine reports and correspondence</li>\n   <li>Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization</li>\n   <li>Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions</li>\n <li>Problem solving</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong><strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Two years of related experience and/or training</li>\n <li>Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries</li>\n <li>OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
