In this role, you will work as part of several teams to develop software, data, and engineering solutions for a diverse range of challenges faced by clients ranging from early-stage startups through to fortune 100 companies. You will be expected to combine scientific and engineering principles, data driven techniques, and a range of current experimental methods and investigative analysis techniques with robust subject-specific scientific expertise, to implement high-value solutions to complex technical problems. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across an extremely wide cross-section of industry and will interact with a variety of client contacts ranging from managers, engineers, legal staff, and business leaders. You will be expected to demonstrate continued professional growth, both in technical areas relevant to your expertise, and in business skills essential to providing effective consulting services.</p>\n<h2>You will be responsible for</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Performing engineering and computer science analyses related to ongoing Exponent work</li>\n <li>Using deep expertise in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field to develop solutions to a wide array of challenging technical problems</li>\n <li>Designing and performing tests and performing a variety of numerical analysis, modeling, and simulation activities to support engineering goals</li>\n <li>Performing reliability and failure analysis related to electrical/electronic systems and components as well as to computer systems and associated networks</li>\n <li>Presenting technical results and solutions to a diverse audience through verbal, written, and interactive communication</li>\n <li>Preparing technical proposals, pursuing business developments, and expanding the range of related services Exponent provides to clients</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Physics or a related field</li>\n <li>An understanding of investigative analysis for troubleshooting technical issues and solving technical challenges</li>\n <li>Experience with finite element analysis, numerical analysis, modeling, and/or simulation of devices, systems, and/or networks</li>\n <li>Experience with at least one common programming language such as Python, C/C++, Java, MATLAB, or similar</li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams</li>\n <li>Ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry</li>\n <li>Desire to learn, and work with, a wide array of different programming languages, software frameworks, and tools</li>\n <li>Ability to support multiple group projects and market the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice and its consulting services</li>\n <li>Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing required </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].</em></p>\n<h2>Life @ Exponent</h2>\n<p>To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>https://www.exponent.com/careers/life-exponent</p>\n<p>https://www.exponent.com/company/our-impact</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Attracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture.
