Come join TEAM PGH as a UR Specialist!</strong></p>\n<p>We offer a full of benefits ranging from:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive Salary</li>\n <li>Paid Time Off</li>\n <li>Paid Holidays (8 Total)</li>\n <li>Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance</li>\n <li>FSA & HSA Plans</li>\n <li>Long-Term & Short-Term Disability</li>\n <li>Company Paid Life Insurance</li>\n <li>Supplemental Life Insurance</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Employee Discount Program</li>\n <li>401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Hourly pay range: $31-50 DOE and licensure held</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PURPOSE STATEMENT:</strong> </p>\n<p>​Proactively monitor utilization of services for patients to optimize reimbursement for the facility.  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>​</strong><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>​Act as liaison between managed care organizations and the facility professional clinical staff. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Conduct reviews, in accordance with certification requirements, of insurance plans or other managed care organizations (MCOs) and coordinate the flow of communication concerning reimbursement requirements. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Monitor patient length of stay and extensions and inform clinical and medical staff on issues that may impact length of stay.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Gather and develop statistical and narrative information to report on utilization, non-certified days (including identified causes and appeal information), discharges and quality of services, as required by the facility leadership or corporate office. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Conduct quality reviews for medical necessity and services provided.   </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Facilitate peer review calls between facility and external organizations.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Initiate and complete the formal appeal process for denied admissions or continued stay.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Assist the admissions department with pre-certifications of care.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Provide ongoing support and training for staff on documentation or charting requirements, continued stay criteria and medical necessity updates. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>​</strong><strong>OTHER FUNCTIONS: </strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>​Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>​</strong><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>​Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Preferred Education<strong>:</strong> Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral or Mental Health, Nursing, or a related health field. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>​Experience: Clinical experience is required, or two or more years' experience working with the facility's population.
