Job Details Wage range: $44.03 to $56.50 + an additional $9 per hour CASA Classrooms premium Vacation:  4.18 hours, accrued bi-weekly Shift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day Primary location: Red Deer Union: In-Scope Classification:  Mental Health Therapist FTE:  1.0 for the duration of the school year Status:  Permanent About the Role Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Mental Health Therapist works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure success in the area of clinical service delivery.  The mental health therapist will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide and to collaborate on treatment planning, intervention(s), and discharge transitions to the community/school with the child and youth and their family/guardians. The Mental Health Therapist adheres to the code of ethics and practice standards of their specific discipline, and applies the principles of evidence-informed practice to all aspects of this work.  The Mental Health Therapist nurtures collaborative relationships with community partners. The Mental Health Therapist will: Work with the CASA team and external supports to provide high-quality, trauma-focused mental health therapies to children, teens and families. Complete mental health assessments, design treatment plans and provide multi-modality therapy for students. Help caregivers with children who have exceptional needs build specialized parenting skills. Formulate diagnoses as appropriate, using the DSM-5-TR and other diagnostic tools. Conduct case management functions, including convening case conferences and liaising with CASA therapists and psychiatrists, community services and other professionals involved with the child and their family. Coordinate consultation with others therapists or external partners as appropriate. Supervise and/or precept student placements. Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues.  Qualifications and Experience Master’s degree in psychology, social work or occupational therapy, or, a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related discipline such as psychology or social sciences, with a minimum of three years of related experience in an educational or mental health setting. Active registration and in good standing with Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions. Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.  Conditions of Employment A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate. Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA) or Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) training, as well as physical ability to perform all interventions. The CASA Classrooms program provides individual and group therapy, psychiatric care, medication management and schooling according to each student’s individual need. CASA Classrooms are CASA’s new model for school-based mental health service. The program is delivered in partnership with the Government of Alberta, community partners and school divisions.<br><br><b>Job Details</b><br><b>Wage range:</b> $44.03 to $56.50 + an additional $9 per hour CASA Classrooms premium<br><b>Vacation: </b>4.18 hours, accrued bi-weekly<br><b>Shift structure: </b>Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day<br><b>Primary location: </b>Red Deer<br><b>Union: </b>In-Scope<br><b>Classification:</b> Mental Health Therapist<br><b>FTE: </b>1.0 for the duration of the school year<br><b>Status: </b>Permanent<br><br><b>About the Role</b><br>Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Mental Health Therapist works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure success in the area of clinical service delivery.  The mental health therapist will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide and to collaborate on treatment planning, intervention(s), and discharge transitions to the community/school with the child and youth and their family/guardians. The Mental Health Therapist adheres to the code of ethics and practice standards of their specific discipline, and applies the principles of evidence-informed practice to all aspects of this work.  The Mental Health Therapist nurtures collaborative relationships with community partners.<br><br>The Mental Health Therapist will:</span></span></span></span><ul style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span><span style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Work with the CASA team and external supports to provide high-quality, trauma-focused mental health therapies to children, teens and families.</span></span></span></span></span></li><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span><span style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Complete mental health assessments, design treatment plans and provide multi-modality therapy for students.</span></span></span></span></span></li><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span><span style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Help caregivers with children who have exceptional needs build specialized parenting skills.</span></span></span></span></span></li><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span><span style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Formulate diagnoses as appropriate, using the DSM-5-TR and other diagnostic tools.</span></span></span></span></span></li><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span><span style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Conduct case management functions, including convening case conferences and liaising with CASA therapists and psychiatrists, community services and other professionals involved with the child and their family.</span></span></span></span></span></li><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span><span style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Coordinate consultation with others therapists or external partners as appropriate.</span></span></span></span></span></li><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span><span style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Supervise and/or precept student style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Master’s degree in psychology, social work or occupational therapy, or, a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related discipline such as psychology or social sciences, with a minimum of three years of related experience in an educational or mental health setting.</span></span></span></span></span></li><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span><span style=\"font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;\">Active registration and in good standing with Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or
