Location - This role is in-person at North Campus, Edmonton. Position Summary The Department of Computing Science invites applications for a full-time Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) member. Currently, the list of courses the ATS member may be required to teach (all or part of) includes: CMPUT 191 - Introduction to Data Science CMPUT 195 - Introduction to Principles and Techniques of Data Science CMPUT 200 - Responsible Data Science and Artificial Intelligence CMPUT 291 - Introduction to File and Database Management CMPUT 393 - Scalable Data-Intensive Analytics INT D 491 - Data Science Capstone Information on the courses above can be found in this catalogue: CMPUT courses INT D courses For context about these courses, see also the information about the Certificate in Applied Data Science B.Sc. in Data Science Other courses and related duties may be considered as conditions change, and depending on the qualifications of the candidate. Responsibilities The ATS member has duties to support teaching more broadly, which may include course and program design and development, the integration of generative artificial intelligence within courses, and the support of instructors in alternative forms of delivery (e.g., online, asynchronous courses). Qualifications The appointment requires a Ph.D. degree in a closely related discipline to computing science, software engineering, or data science. Successful teaching experience, especially in the context of team-based, capstone-project courses that apply data science, and use modern cloud technologies, is an asset.
