As the need for mental health services grows, Child Development Institute (CDI) continues to be the steadfast support and leading provider of specialized mental health services for children and youth aged 0-18 and their families. All of our services are guided by a strength-based approach that incorporates the family and the community into the journey of supporting children and youth.
Trusted with the mental well-being of our community's most sensitive members, infants and children, all of our programming is backed by rigorous research. Science is the backbone which informs our work as we evolve alongside the needs of our community.

All our services are delivered by a deeply caring and compassionate team that guides children, youth and families along a mental health journey in a safe, respectful and welcoming space.
Who we need
Activity Group Support Worker (AGSW) provides child minding for the siblings of clients participating in the SNAP program under the direction of the SNAP Activity Group Leader. This position requires the skills to plan and deliver fun and engaging activities for children ages 2-12. The AGSW also prepares healthy snacks for the Activity and SNAP groups and clean up at the end of the night. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Activity Group Leader and SNAP clinical staff to ensure the needs of each child are met in the Activity Group.
This is a non-bargaining casual contract position requires to work flexible evening hours. Hours are not guaranteed.

What the role is all about... Accepts and works within the framework of the Institute’s stated vision, mission, values, and goals Supervises the siblings of clients participating in the SNAP program ensuring the safety and security of all participants Monitors participant behaviours and ensures proactive intervention to avoid potential behavioural escalations Ensures that food and drinks are available and prepares snacks and refreshments for participants in the Activity Group and SNAP Groups and delivers snacks to groups when required Implements activities for children age 2-12 under the direction of the SNAP Activity Group Leader Helps to meet and greet families and accompany siblings to Activity Group Ensures that Activity Group spaces are clean and secure following each shift.
