Serve as a member of the clinical team during DBHDD site reviews, investigations, audits, and corrective action plans. Assists in identifying system‑level clinical risks and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Provide expert medical, psychiatric and therapeutic input. Advise the CEO and Governing Board on medical and psychiatric implications of DBHDD policy changes, legislative actions, and funding modifications. Support implementation of statewide DBHDD initiatives, pilots, waivers, and crisis system transformations.</span></h3><h3 style='margin-top:8.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:4.0pt;margin-left:0in;line-height:normal;font-size:19px;font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;color:#365F91;font-weight:normal;'><strong><span style='font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;color:windowtext;'>Medical &amp; Psychiatric Workforce Leadership</span></strong><span style='font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;color:windowtext;'>: Provide direct supervision or oversight of psychiatrists, physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other medical professionals in various locations through a regular physical presence in the agency, or through the use of videoconferencing including participation in peer review and quality of care audits. Support recruitment and retention of medical professionals in rural and underserved counties. Promote a culture of medical and psychiatric excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Ensure medical clinic staff receive appropriate training on DBHDD requirements, best practices, and emerging standards of care.</span></h3><strong><span style='font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Community &amp; System Collaboration</span></strong><span style='font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>: Serve as the CSB&rsquo;s senior medical/psychiatric representative. Support coordinated crisis response and diversion initiatives. Strengthen partnerships that improve access to care and reduce hospitalizations and justice system involvement.</span><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Qualifications</strong>: Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) and licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law and two (2) years of experience at the lower level Physician 2 (HCP161) or position equivalent.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong>:&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><li>Board certification in Psychiatry strongly preferred.</li><li>Minimum of <strong>7&ndash;10 years</strong> of clinical experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, and/or IDD services.</li><li>Demonstrated senior‑level leadership experience in a <strong>Community Service Board, DBHDD‑funded provider, or public sector behavioral health system</strong>.</li><li>Extensive experience serving Medicaid‑eligible and uninsured populations.</li><li>Experience with crisis services, forensic populations, and rural service delivery strongly preferred.</li></ul><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><em>Agency is an eligible worksite for the VA Education Benefit Program (Veterans)</em></strong></p><p><em><strong>Agency is an eligible work site for the National Health Service Corps and the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Programs.</strong></em></p><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\">Middle Flint Health &amp; Wellness services the following 11 counties: Webster, Marion, Sumter, Schley, Taylor, Crisp, Dooly, Macon, Houston, Peach and Crawford.</p><p>Middle Flint Health &amp; Wellness is a Drug Free Workplace.
