</strong>Gas Allowance Stipend</li>\n <li>Newly, renovated building</li>\n <li>Increased Tuition Assistance Program for Clinical Tracks </li>\n <li>Shift Differentials</li>\n <li>Full Benefits Package</li>\n <li>Employee referral program</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Apply today to become an RN Educator at Elderwood - where your knowledge empowers others, and your leadership strengthens care.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>RN Educator:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Is recognized as a “super user” with all clinical aspects of the EMR and serves as a resource for facility staff.</li>\n <li>Schedules, teaches and leads the BLS certification program based on facility needs; maintains equipment and records.</li>\n <li>Schedules, teaches and leads the IV certification program based on facility needs; maintains equipment and records.</li>\n <li>Performs staff vaccinations, health screenings, and other medical testing as assigned.</li>\n <li>Collaborates with Unit Managers, Nurse Preceptors, Nurse Consultants and assists with annual clinical skills competency testing for licensed nursing staff on an ongoing basis.</li>\n <li>Serves as a resource and mentor for the Nurse Preceptors and new nurses in the facility, providing education and support as appropriate during department-based orientation.</li>\n <li>Coordinates and/or leads delivery of corporate mandatory in-service education for facility staff.</li>\n <li>Plans and leads General Orientation Program (with support by other department heads) to acquaint new personnel to facility.</li>\n <li>Coordinates program development, implementation, and documentation of the NATP - Nursing Assistant Training Program (if applicable); serves as an instructor for scheduled classes.</li>\n <li>Coordinates Prometric testing for Nursing Assistant Trainees and recording of certification, if applicable.</li>\n <li>Schedules and delivers CNA and Support Aide orientation programs based on hiring needs.</li>\n <li>Schedules and presents training programs to ensure that Nursing Assistants complete six (6) hours of in-service education every six (6) months.</li>\n <li>Oversees tracking of in-service education hours and generates reports utilizing LMS.</li>\n <li>Enrolls staff in LMS programs and tracks module completion and compliance.</li>\n <li>Serves as an instructor for the licensed nurse orientation program at designated sites when needed.</li>\n <li>Coordinates, with management, department-based orientation programs for new staff.</li>\n <li>Plans, coordinates, and presents regular and special education sessions for nursing staff to acquaint them with new nursing practices, procedures, policies, or skills.</li>\n <li>Prepares monthly in-service education calendar and monthly report.</li>\n <li>Coordinates schedule for periodic emergency drills including fire drills, disaster drills, and Code Blue drills and maintains records.</li>\n <li>Attends facility staff meetings and leads In-service Education </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>From</h2>\n<h2>Up to</h2>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>RN Educator:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Credentials of a Registered Professional nurse with a current NYS license required.</li>\n <li>Baccalaureate degree preferred.</li>\n <li>Experience in in-service education or skills in teaching; at least one year experience in a long-term health care facility required.</li>\n <li>Ability to work cooperatively with personnel at all levels required.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing required.</li>\n <li>Personal qualities of enthusiasm; interest in needs of residents, and quality assurance desirable.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required.</li>\n <li>This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
