    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Element has an opportunity for a *Part-Time* <strong>Laboratory Technician I</strong> to join our rapidly expanding team in Lafayette LA. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element, the <strong>Laboratory Technician I </strong>position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision.  The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This is a part time role, 28 hours per week, and requires working every third weekend, and ever third holiday. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare material specimens for testing</li>\n <li>Perform tests as directed by customer specifications</li>\n <li>Operate under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager</li>\n <li>Gather and record test data</li>\n <li>Construct and maintain various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills / Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Working knowledge of laboratory safety</li>\n <li>HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed</li>\n <li>0-2 years’ experience in a testing related field</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of testing concepts</li>\n <li>Possess computer skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Physical Demands:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate).</li>\n <li>Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. on occasion</li>\n <li>Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time</li>\n <li>Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-TK1</p>\n<h2>Diversity Statement</h2>\n<p>At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
