The Transportation Mechanic I will perform semi-skilled duties in the operation, repair and maintenance of school buses and other transportation vehicles. The Shop Foreman will assign tasks based on experience. Minor problems may be resolved, complexed problems are referred to the Shop Foreman. The Transportation Mechanic receives limited supervision.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Uphold the mission and vision of KIPP ENC</li><li>Provide a safe, healthy, consistent, positive, caring environment for staff</li><li>Maintain garage within OSHA safety guidelines</li><li>Perform preventive maintenance on all school buses</li><li>Check, add and change engine oil</li><li>Replace oil and air filters</li><li>Check, add and change brake fluid</li><li>Replace brake linings</li><li>Rotate and replace tires as needed</li><li>Check hoses and belts</li><li>Other duties assigned by Shop Foreman</li><li>Repair and replace minor parts</li><li>Windshield wiper blades</li><li>Headlights</li><li>Batteries</li><li>Report any major mechanical issues to Shop Foreman</li><li>Fuel buses</li></ul>",
