    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements.</li>\n <li>Responsible for the design of new automotive products from initial RFQ, thru the development phases, production launch and production support continued til end of service requirements.</li>\n <li>Experience implementing NVH improvements for automotive or commercial vehicle with anti-vibration parts, i.e. engine mounts, suspension bushings, body/cradle/subframe mounts, etc.</li>\n <li>Detailed development of a product or system based on interpretation of customer’s specifications to meet functional and cost requirements.</li>\n <li>Guide the Designers and CAE Engineers to meet customer and internal deadlines/requirements including DFM/DFA to deliver a robust, cost-effective solution to production.</li>\n <li>Fully utilizing physical test and analytical methods to support design direction.</li>\n <li>Responsible for detailed design, establishing prints and specifications, developing prototypes, and specifying tests.</li>\n <li>To coach and develop the engineering skills of Engineers and Technicians within the team.</li>\n <li>To cooperatively work with the Project Team Leader to develop team objectives and goals and to jointly manage the team to achieve these goals.</li>\n <li>Participates in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) team including review of timing issues, metal components, suppliers, molds, production processes, product costs, etc.</li>\n <li>Support process, assembly and component changes to improve manufacturing processes, quality, scrap and OEE to reduce costs, etc.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of engineering methods such as APQP, FMEA, DVP, GD&amp;T, 8D problem solving and DOE.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Specifying laboratory tests to simulate the vehicle life cycle.</li>\n <li>Diagnoses and reports on causes of failures in products.</li>\n <li>Continuously applies value analysis to reduce material and labor costs and to improve product quality.</li>\n <li>The Project Engineer is the main line of technical communication with the customer, Hutchinson sales, suppliers and with other Hutchinson departments.</li>\n <li>Responsible for completing tasks of all lower position levels and tasks assigned by the Management</li>\n <li>Encourage applied research and development with the engineering team and to foster product and process innovation.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\"><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong>:&nbsp; Refer to organizational Chart&nbsp;</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong><u>REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.&nbsp; The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.&nbsp; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with Sales, Engineering, Industrialization, Quality and Production Departments including all other plant and office personnel.&nbsp; Attention to detail and accuracy.&nbsp; Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of manufacturing products/processes. Need to know and understand metal stampings, aluminum casting, aluminum extrusions, plastic injection, rubber molding, metal finishers (coatings), etc..&nbsp; Must understand the importance of being a self-starter, working autonomously, organized and dedicated, with good record keeping skills in a manufacturing environment.&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\"><strong>EDUCATION &amp;/or EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">Minimum BS in Engineering or equivalent; and five to ten years&nbsp;related experience.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\"><strong>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">Advanced math skills, Min Calculus</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\"><strong>COMPUTER SKILLS:</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Software.&nbsp; Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks a plus.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\"><strong>REASONING ABILITY:</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.&nbsp;Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and process several abstract and concrete variables.&nbsp; Must be able to assess reasonableness of the analysis performed. Must be capable of managing product development programs with limited supervision. Must be a self-starter, organized and dedicated, with good record keeping skills.
