Job Description
You'll architect and develop our customer-facing frontend applications, design scalable backend services that power our data infrastructure, and own our enterprise orchestration platform built on Airflow and GKE. Using full-stack development with platform engineering—you'll create intuitive user experiences while building robust APIs and services that interact with our data pipelines. Guides team members to provide direct input to the overall engineering process and to team meetings. Coordinates in a team environment is essential to work on various aspects of the platform/products, as is a devotion of collaboration to problem solve, design, and increase product quality. This is an opportunity to shape how users interact with our data products from the ground up. You'll spend your time building modern web applications, designing microservices architectures, managing containerized workflows at scale, and collaborating closely with our data engineering team to deliver end-to-end solutions
Job Responsibility
Designs and develops solutions to various problems either independently or in a team environment; designs and maintains efficient code that is reliable.
Forms technical documents such as a design specification document.
Utilizes relational databases by integrating data storage solutions.
Utilizes Azure services such as, but not limited to, Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, Containers, Cosmos DB, event hubs.
Utilizes messaging patterns for system-to-system communication.
Ensures applications are performing at high capacity, responsiveness, and quality.
Finds solutions to reduce issues and defects.
Maintains that the platform's code and data are organized, automated, and of high quality.
Guides junior team personnel by recommending software design and development opportunities/best practices.
Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
Job Qualification
Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
HIGHLY PREFERRED
Demonstrated Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience
Previous experience as a Software Engineer on a Data Platform team for a large organization
Experience in/ with Python (FastAPI, etc.)
Experience with infrastructure as code, specifically Terraform
Extensive experience with Airflow
Experience with OpenLineage, OpenMetadata and data contracts
Experience with BigQuery, CloudSQL, Pub/ Sub, GKE, etc.
Experienced in developing front end application using Next.JS, Python, Javascript, React
